Anybody else out this way took a ride? I went out from around midnight-3am. Such a cool, beautiful ride. I set out with 3 cameras, tripod and ended up taking no photos. -I was getting soaked through my coat and gloves which normally work very well through the winter for me ..but this was just such a heavy, wet snow that I had no chance. New coat and gloves are a must this winter.
Bike looked like a snowball, I'm sure. Falling limbs and branch avalanche all over the place. Really neat experience. I'm hoping for an ice storm -one that I'll be fully prepared for.
There is something about riding at night with falling snow
I ride more in the winter than I do in the summer.

Really wish I had photos to share. No doubt my most memorable -and truly magnificent- winter ride.

holy ****!
I saw on the news that they are considering have that area termed as a "disaster area" because of the power outages and snow. Did you really get 15 inches or more?
my hat's off to ya

sunofsand, hang in there glad you had the chance to play in some deep snow during October. I remember ice storm 1998 over here in northeastern NY. I lost power for 14 days not fun.

I slept through the storm, and woke up to only 8 inches of snow, which quickly melted. But I have been riding in the storm's aftermath. Branches piled high by the side of the road (often blocking the shoulder). Also, bike paths were apparently near the bottom of tree removal crews' priority list.

No big deal. I just had to drive more, ride less.

We only caught the tail end of a wet windy storm - no snow. Have hit a couple of wet/snowy white outs in the last couple of weeks thought - but nothing like what you guys got. Every night at least one of the local news channels has something on about the clean up effort/disaster relief topics...

I know the look of a "snowball" bike! I luv riding in the snow!

I'm looking forward to not having to see all the closure notices/etc on the bottom of the Buffalo tv channels we get here. ;)
