I just picked up an old Schwinn LeTour. Its a nice big 63cm frame. W00T!
The problem is that it has a slightly bent right seat stay. Its dog legged *ever* so slighly. I can see where it needs to be bent back (hooray for steel!) but I am not sure how to go about it. Any suggestions? Also the right dropout is also slightly bent. I am going to just bend it back in a vise or maybe even a huge crescent wrench I have.
Of course, once I'm done with all this, I'll make sure the rear triangle is aligned. I just am not sure how to go about the initial repair on the seat stay.
Also if anyone knows what kind of material this frame might be, I have a thread in the Mechanics section about that. I'm guessing 1020 steel based on the stamped dropouts (no der hanger, thin) but I just need to know. The only sticker on it says "Schwinn Super Light" on the seat tube.
BTW the bike was ridden by the previous owner, even with these defects so I don't think its too severe...
Thanks for any help!
