1st pedal strike the other day.

Fixed for ~2 mths now, cranking up the pace a little, took a turn a little sharper than usual and heard a scraaape! didn't fall, luckily.

Perfect way to find it. Now, just never lean that far over again, and you are golden.

When I first got my fixie, that happened about 3 times in the first week. I was so used to the huge BB clearance on my 26" MTB. Also, I wasn't used to pedalling through turns so much, so that certainly contributed. Eh, it happens.

I hit a curb with my pedal once, and I thought I had ruined my entire cleat setup.

Happens to me once in a while, so far never hard enough to eat it, though...

Hey "that guy" - what does this have to do with the OP?

Maybe he wants us to Search for why he posted that search link?

I hit all the time. I have 170mm cranks on an English style frame. I'd like to see someone find a lower bottom bracket than mine on a road bike. I ride an old bianchi, don't know what model though. I never lose control when I touch, but I almost did. I passed my friend on his vespa and he didn't like that so he sped up and we were both taking a tight turn. He took it really tight forcing me too. Took a nice chunk out of the corner of my pedal. I won.

that was good. it made me smile.

To clarify, the subject has been posted many times before. So using the search function will yield much more information than a thread like this, especially with comments such as mine, as well as smartass (in a good way) comments from others who obviously think ( at least more than I do) before they post.

If perhaps the links don't work, in the first I searched for pedal strike in the title, in the second post: for the entire thread.

Hopefully this post was better.

But maybe this was a post to solicit simpathy (all of us either have done it or will do it) rather than advice.
I need to think more before I post.

Carleton: You make me smile with most of your posts. Keep up the good work.
