Back story, Nicky 'The Kentucky Kid' Hayden (#69) third bike going in tho the left hander. Started this race (next to the last for the season) with a 12 point lead in the chase for the championship. Only to be taken out by team mate Dani Pedrosa (#26) the fourth bike... who was sitting 5th in season points and could not win the championship if he was the only entry in the last two races.

Pedrosa attempts a stuff on Hayden going in to the left hander, why I'll never guess! I always thought that team mates were suposed to help a mate win a championship not make it harder! Now Haden is 13 points behind Valention Rossi, with only one race left in the season... Hayden has to win that last race with Rossi finishing no better than third.

While Rossi is a very charming and capable rider who has won the MotoGP in years past, I have a certian fondness for Nicky, having watched his growth in professional roadracing since moving from flat track.

This is just so wrong.

"I would not want to go near that..." Don't blame him. Damn. The looks from the team watching are priceless.

That totally sucked!

It did turn into a great race though, Tony Elias rode like he was fire. I thought Rossi was going to crash out tring to pass Elias on the last lap.

These days, MotoGp is way more fun to watch than F1.

What a blithering idiot. Their team manager needs to have a few choice words with that boy.

The days of the oil burners were much more fun... GP = 2 stroke, always has, always will. Guess I'm just old school.

Yes, my hat is off to Tony for a fine ride, and I don't think Rossi wants to back in to a championship like that. He's too much the sporting competitor to relish in a sullied victory.

I LOVED the sound of the two strokes.

Went to Laguna Seca this year and saw the diesels for the first time, man are they LOUD!

What a blithering idiot. Their team manager needs to have a few choice words with that boy.
Only two words needed: "You're fired." Or, if we are to stay British about it: "You're sacked."

That move would have been unforgiveable in whatever the motorcycle equivalent of a Cat-5 criterium is, so why on earth would a pro think it was okay to do at any time, much less when you are putting your soon-to-be champion teammate at risk?

I know nothing about this sport except that these guys have a need for speed that goes waaaaaaay beyond mine. Is there any bad blood between the two riders? Let me rephrase that: was there any before this incident? (I'm guessing there's plenty now.)

..Is there any bad blood between the two riders? Let me rephrase that: was there any before this incident? (I'm guessing there's plenty now.)Who knows... the inner-workings of a team always has a big interwoven mess of people's personalities. Reminds of the Lemond-Hinault battle or Senna vs. Prost...

Team mates should work for each other, if the other guy has a chance to win then try to help em. Isn't what being part of a team is all about?.

It was a mistake, a very very very BIG mistake....we all make them...right?

The kid has got to take some time learning how to ride at that level of racing.

Heck Stoner took out Sete on lap #2, I alway wonder who he will take out next!

Well, you figured to get to tippy-top pinnacle level of international motorcycle racing, he would've had some experience in knowing what he can and can't pull off. And to get on a team at that level, he should be darn familiar with team work and I'm sure there's team-orders as well. Small mistakes are fine, but a BIG one like that's inexcusable.

Hayden is world champion!! WOOHOO!!!

Said he is "cool' with Pedrosa now. He still would not be on my Christmas card list.

I'm glad that Nicky got the championship. Tho' it would have been much more interesting had Rossi been in position to challenge him durring the race.

IMHO, Pedrosa is still a ******.

At least Rossi cracked yesterday and Hayden won the championship yesterday.

The best teammate foul ups I've seen are the BMW formula one guys. The US GP last year and the one in brazil this year, both bmw drivers took each other out in the first lap.
