Jack at Franklin Frame sent me this pic last night of my finished LeJeune frame. Decals by mswantak. Can't wait to get my hands on it.

It will be finished in mostly French components.

Man, that is nice. I am a sucker for a French bike. Please post it when you have it built up (or even just a build list).

Completely redone.

Damn, you must really love that frame! I have a frame that I would consider doing that too but the price.... did you the painter also do the chrome?

Handsome.

I have one very similar to this, was powdered black, I have been stripping it, same lugs on mine but different ends, Campagnolo on the one I have, I was surprised on when I took ine apart there was factory blue, more turquoise than the all blue LeJeunes I have seen. I have seen two tone LJ's before but not on the fork...

Any frame numbers? Only one of mine has a number.

Looks like you or someone went with braze on waterbottle fittings, I did that to my '73 along with downtube shifter bosses in the mid 80's when it was just an OLD bike.

Every time I see beautiful bikes like this I get the urge to repaint mine. Love the red color. Well done!

Ny neighbor has this exact bike! It is very beautiful! she and her husband bought a pair back in to 70's or 80's... she asked me what it was worth today... couldn't tell her. How much to these go for today, in good original condition?

Jack at Franklin Frame did all the work.

225 paint and clear
195 rechrome and mask
75 pinstripe and rwb bands and frame saver
15 wb on dt
15 apply decals
30 fix dropout

Compared to many other frame restorers, it is a bargain. I have owned this frame since 1973. Technically it is too big, but I rode it many years and can't say it felt too big.

Blue like this?

I had the bottle braze ons done. No numbers save some that were stamped in it by the Columbia, MO police department. Jack may have filled those in, I don't know.

A nice Blue example as well. I think my example is very close to your Blue one, it never had chrome, and has a diamond brazed on on top of the down tube for restraining the shifter clamp, the previous owner brazed on cable stops for bar end shifters, those will be removed. Same fork crown on mine. My example has brazed on BB cable guides on the top of the BB shell and drilled dropouts, I think the holes are original as there was blue paint in them.

I know team bikes of this era had things like that done, but I suspect it is just a "team" replica, but the blue throws me, all of the team LeJeunes I have seen were Red or Chrome (Daniel Morelon's). I have seen blue LeJeune jerseys on ebay, perhaps an amateur or B level pro team got the blue ones.

I cannot determine if the BB cable guides are original or not at this point.

Do you know the year of your Blue bike?

PO indicated the frame was in a CA shop in the late 60s. I bought it as a frame and used parts I had stashed from the sale/trade of my purple 3Rensho.
