I think we should have a message thread to connect for rides and share community news and information. There are group rides each Saturday and Sunday mornings, mostly meeting at the duck pond in Alton Baker Park.
I also ride at different times on week days, so if you'd like to join me a message in this thread will work.

Saturday - Crow Road, Doane Road and Briggs Hill
Sunday - Flat ride NW of Eugene Sovern and Meadowview roads and Alvadore area

Fall colors are in high gear this week, WOW! It's the best time to be out enjoying the changing maple and oak trees from your bike. Better put on the fenders and rain gear, it's finally the rainy season in Oregon.

Group rides this week, 10:00 for fast pace ride and 10:30 for mellow pace riders:

Saturday - Rattle Snake Butte and Pleasant Hill area.

Sunday - Gimpl Hill and Crow Road.

Nice. Wish I could make it. Instead I think I'm gonna venture over Eola and see if there is any snow left up there.

Saturday, Jan 20 we will ride to Crow with a return over Gimpl Hill road.

Blackberry Century over Wolf Creek road, Siuslaw River road and Poodle Creek will be the first weekend in August. If you are vacationing on the west coast in August you might add this to your trip, it's a spectacular ride. It starts in Eugene, goes into wine country, then into beautiful forests, then farm country around Fern Ridge Lake.

Crow area on Petzold Rd.

I might be able to make it on January 20'th . . . do I have to be a member in order to join a ride? What's the average speed traveled on the rides? Is a mountain bicycle okay to use rather than a road bike? Age limit(s)?

I've been over around Gimpl Hill Rd quite a bit. It's nice in that area.

Sincerely,
Stefan

Fast riders leave at 10:00, 16 - 18 mph average. Slower paced riders leave at 10:30, 12-14 mph and shorter distance, with this group your bike should be OK (smooth tires recommended). The meeting place is the duck pond at Alton Baker Park, rides open to all who want to ride.

Argh! I'd love to do the ride (and I would have), but I just recalled that I'm going to have to help my parents with moving some stuff and taking care of some other things with my grandmother on Saturday. :( Maybe another time . . . sounds like fun.

Sincerely,
Stefan
