No. $60 (at my LBS) will get a pair of Mavic Open Sports, not the greatest but good. 612 grams for a rim?!? They are probably strong enough at that weight.

612 grams on a 13 MM profile? and I thought my deep v's were heavy...

In case that was not clear 612 is for the Vueltas
I've seen them around. Not as nicely done as Deep V's, certainly not as nice as CXP-33's or Open Pro's. The join was a bit rough, the milling on the braking surfaces had a couple glitches, and the powdercoat had a few weak spots. Also, I happened to build them up for a friend who bought them and we were going to use standard Sapim nipples. About half a dozen of the nipples didn't seat properly until we'd countersunk the spokeholes from the inside to get rid of excess metal. It was also apparent that the extrusion thickness varied noticeably, usually a sign of poor extrusion control or a worn-out die.
Plus, you won't have much resale value in them. I'd suggest you stick, for less money, with the standard rim choices.
hmm yes the Vuelta Stylus Corsa. I bought a set and wish I hadn't. The one thing I noticed right away was the spoke nipple holes weren't really deburred at all. Kinda tipped me off that they were knocked out of the factory quickishly. The joins on my set were okay though and finish seemed fine. They haven't been built up yet but I guess they should make a pretty decent wheel. But save the extra few pence and get something from Velocity or Mavic.
