Classic & Vintage - Foul Weather bikes

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
We've got a front moving through the Rockies and Denver may have 3" by tommorrow. It's coming down now as I look out the window. Pastor Bob inspired me to get my butt in gear and winterize my foul weather/freezing rain beater. This is my 1984 Sears & Roebuck FreeSpirit Greenbriar and my furry seat cover. Total invested to date: $34.00. I'm a cheepo:D

I'm still trying to figure out if my 1973 Schwinn Conti fixie would be the way to go in deep powder.... If a lead sled w/ weight in the trunk works on the road, why not a Conti w/ fenders?
How about some more pics folks?? What are you using this winter for your inexpensive beater??
My mountain bike is my foul-weather friend.

My live-under-a-tarp, grocery-store, beater bike is a '91 Bridgestone CB-1 w/ Nitto flat moustache bars, my ancient Bellweather panniers, and a Topeak rear basket mounted on a cheapo Nashbar front rack.

Ebay auction last year: those bars (marked Nitto "townie" bars) plus a set of Nitto Promenade bars for around $30, I believe. Both were NOS.
