Yeah seems like a decent complete, I'd just loose the GTA stickers haha.

scr1be
10-17-06, 07:13 PM
yeah the stickers are awful.

i was leaving them on so that if you guys said the whole bike sucked so bad i shouldn't even bother, i was going to sell it.

but if you guys think it's ridable, and it's not going to break in half, then i'll peel the stickers and ride it. i'll just upgrade stuff if it breaks. hopefully that's not soon.

haha, did you win it from rockstar (the game company) ?

its not a bad bike

Ya, it seems like a good complete.

Now you can start BMXing and not "urban mountian biking."

What's wrong with GTA stickers? It's a sick game.

sick game, but it's kind of corny with all the stickers on the bike.

For a GTA bike, you almost expect it to come brakeless... (although it is illegal, but hey, so is stealing cars and killing cops)

10-17-06, 08:05 PM
haha

FuzzyRyder

It's not illegal in canada. My local shop sells a few completes that come stock brakeless. I think as long as they have mounts, or a hole for a caliper then it's okay.

Not in the great U.S. of A. You can buy frames without brake mounts, but you can not buy a frame unless it has atleast one brake.

Better than what I started riding on. 3 piece cranks are good. Too bad they are unsealed. First thing I would change are those handlebars. Gross. But for free, it's great.

You need to get a duster to that thing pronto

The old Edwin frames had those holes in the seatstay (i want to say) bridge thing where you could throw on calipers...

I dont think the new ones do...

Will you hurt yourself. Yes. If you ride hard and push yourself. If you're not pushing your limits you're not progressing. Nowt wrong with that. I have not progressed much in years. I'm too old for these 20" ers but I can't help myself.

so just wondering.... if i were to sell the bike instead of keep it... how much would a fair price be? would i get 50 bucks? 100?

FuzzyRyder
10-23-06, 11:23 AM
That bike is easyly better then a Poverty buck 99. I'd say you could get $150 - $200 for it. But it's not bad, I'd just keep it.

scr1be
10-23-06, 01:20 PM
i would keep it but i'm trying to buy a snowboard for the upcoming season. maybe i can make enough to keep it and get a new board.

i'm looking at an atomic alibi. as for bindings, i was looking at union or salomon. i'm most likely just keeping my burton drivers for boots, but i wouldn't mind getting some new vans fargo focus'.

Atomic alabi is a sweet deck, but you should consider something else for bindings. I'd look at rome 390's or ride spi's. I've got K2 forumulas and I love them, those are a good choice too, and all those are around the same price. I'm getting new boots this season, either Vans encores, or 32 nui boas.

didn't want to start a new thread.

i think i've decided that i can't get into bmxing. between snowboarding and regular mtn biking, i don't have time for it, nor do i have space in my apartment.

can you guys tell me what a fair price to ask for it on craigslist is? i have NO CLUE what to even start the ad price at. i see bikes for 100 bucks that are from 1990's, but those are big brands like GT. and of course i see bikes for 100 bucks that are definitely overpriced because they look like they're from the 80's.

thanks,

Brian

i've ridden it once from the gas station where i pumped up the tires. that's it. the tires still have the little rubber pieces that stick out.

thanks for the advice.

how did u win the bike?

i was walking by a store one day and they were having this rockstar games tournament. it was for the new xbox game "table tennis". they only had like 9 people in the tournament and the guy asked me if i'd like to sign up. i had mad time to kill and i saw the bike, so i decided what the hell.

i've never owned an xbox nor played the game, and the people who were playing looked hardcore. i was scurred, since i only play pc games (cs).

but, i ended up winning. i guess they were really bad.

So true. Face it, the bike is a pile of crap that just so happens to roll... for the time being.

Great choices on the board gear. What size is your alibi, and what's your hieght, and weight if you don't mind me asking.

Yes and no. It was a promo thing for Rockstar Games, probably by Pacific Bicycles; it definitely is not a Rockstar Bikes bike.
