RAL is a powdercoat manufacturer.

scotty, He has at least the whole RAL catalog available to him, but I had to order the powder for my bike. He keeps a regular stock of regular colors on hand. Also, I'll have some powder left over, as I had to buy 5 pounds for it. I work like 2 miles from that place, in the building across from International Mall. that's going to make wednesday night Tampa rides a possibility for me, once this thing is done.

See Joe, I think we're all very interested in hearing how your bike comes out. I'm pretty sure we all have a bike or two that we'll want to get done if it goes well. I know mine is begging to have the tape removed and gets some paint on it's Pista body.

Srsly. I got one hell of a steal on my Trek 560 frame. He's got a lot of really awesome stuff up there and I'd encourage everyone to go check out his stock. I'm pretty sure you'll find some fancy bits for your bike.

That's great guys. Spread the word too. He would really appreciate it. Let's put a together a day and time to get up there and check things out BRING CASH. I'm thinking either Saturday or Sunday for sure, but those that can get up ther during the week should do so.

Ok, first things first. If anybody knows if BJ has a short nitto/sakae/whatever quill stem, moustache bars, reverse brake levers, a decent seat (white or black) or decent brake calipers, touring pedals, I want some or all of them.

On to the burning question on everybody's mind; the powdercoating.

the pricing is broken down as follows:
15 for the sandblast, pretreat, chemical dip
100 for the powdercoat, including all appropriate plugging and masking of threads
this includes, I believe, a standard color that he normally has on hand, which looks to be about 24 colors.
He has some remnants that you can use, at a per-pound rate, that were left over from other jobs.
I wanted a custom color that he had to order, and there is a 5 pound minimum order; 15 bucks a pound.
I'll have 4 pounds left over, that I'll have to figure out what I'll do with.

Mine didn't turn out too cheap, but I bought the bike for 30 bucks, so I figured I'd splurge on the color.

I dropped off the frame this morning, and will hopefully have it by friday. I'll send some pics to someone, so they can post them, unless I can figure out how to attach pics here.

I've got a set of Nashbar moustache bars I've never really used. They were wrapped once.
