Joe, we're all hoping that he's coming and that he will be able to sponsor Corey's race with something. I know he's been busy with some other things lately (like getting a bike) so we'll see. As for him bringing product...he does custom work so if you have something in mind I'm sure he would love to work with you.

By the way...how's your bike coming along? Any new progress?

Yeah, I've been riding it for a week or so. Had to get a taller stem, then I couldn't decide which bars to run, so I'm running naked bars. I'm going to tape them up in the next day or 2, and run my brakes, because I have been running brakeless so far. I have to box up the bianchi and ship it off to G-ville tonight. I just picked up a box from Mike's shop, and just saw Corey and Bailey.

re: Mike Arena:
I am looking for a tt pad, I thought that his GF made them, or maybe I'm thinking of someone else. Before Luke ditched us, I hadn't gotten a chance to really see his Fixed fight bag.

Let me know if Mike's booked; my girlfiend makes them. All you need to do is figure out the color/type of fabric.

What's the word? Are we riding tonight or are we going to try and put a weekend ride together?

I can ride tonight or possibly early Sunday. I have plans Friday and Saturday night. Let's do an early Sunday ride in Tampa.

I can ride tonight...although I am on the lam from the law. Cops (bad boys, bad boys, whatcha gonna do) showed up at my apartment yesterday to serve a warrant for not showing up to court on the heinous crime of riding a bicycle in a parking garage, as my landlord informs me. I got a court date set up for tuesday and I just gotta hideout until then since the court wasn't able to take off my active warrant status. Can't they put a warrant out for the judge/prosecuter/clerk for not showing up for the first court date??

Good thing I can sail away if the heat gets too hot.

Ride tonight?

I'm still at work (on Roosevelt in North St. Pete). I'm going to be here for another hour and then I'd still need to go home (Largo) and get my bike and then back to St. Pete to ride...in short, no I don't think I'm riding tonight.

the 7-mile loop is a paved trail, however lots of offroad trails branch off of it and meet up in a little dirt set south of morris bridge rd

That Guy, you doing the State Road Race Sunday?

michael 66
06-08-07, 09:13 AM
I have been riding the 7-mile loop for years. It is great for road training having a nice wide lane of paved road, no stops, cold iced water every couple miles, and signs telling people to watch out for high speed bikes. How cool is that?
Had a bobcat stand in my path one evening out there.
Surrounding and passing through it is about a ~13 mile loop of singletrack and fire road that is a great time. A good mix of fast hardpack and twisty rooty cutbacks.
The Morris Bridge section contains numerous trails without doing the whole loop.
Wilderness Park article (http://outdoortravels.com/biking_fl_overview_morris-flatwoods-troutcreek.html)
I suggest a singlespeed of course.

Adam - Drinking and BSing go hand in hand with riding fixed in downtown St. Pete. We all enjoy a long fast ride from time to time, but most of us like to get in, do our thing and then sit down and talk about how great it was for a couple hours...we're talking about riding bikes right?

Corey - Don't get mad that we can't all get together at the same time to ride. If I lived downtown my ***** would have sold my truck already and have been riding every night. We'll ride together soon and if not EVERYONE will be at the June 22nd event start.

Dosh Kel - Anyone know who this guy is?

Trevor - What time are you riding Sunday morning and are you riding fixed?

Scotty - Do you still ride bikes?

Joe - Always a day late.

Jamey - You work more than I do.

Michael - I'm going to try and bring you those posters and cards for the shop this weekend.

All - There is a beautiful (small) vintage Raleigh on Craigslist.

Luke - You're dead to us Tampa/'Burg folks, you traitor.

Todd - Hello kettle, the pot called. Actually, I've been building up a fixed for my brother. We rode downtown Tampa last night. He's catching on pretty quick. May he learn to hate you as much as I do, young lady.

Robb - Did you get hit by a bus? Where the hell are you?

Corey - Sorry I had to take off last night. Will see you Wednesday.

The Rest of You - Hugs and kisses.
