My gut says yes. I don't see why not. I think you just need to be able to review the pictures at the finish, i.e. no film developing necessary. Camera phones also might work. I'll ask the next time I see the guy who's putting it together.

Hey guys, just a heads up. I bought a new (to me) bike on Wednesday and had it stolen on Thursday in downtown St. Pete. I really grew attached to it, even though I only got to ride it twice.
It's a gray 05 Langster with black electrical tape over most of the logos. Stock bars and seat. Front brake only. Silver Deep Vs. Size XL or 58. The give-away is a black Thompson Elite seatpost.
Please keep an eye out, but I'm not feeling very hopeful right now.

Adam, that sucks man. You need to post this in the Regional Thread as well if you haven't already. You also need to keep an eye on some of the other fixed gear forum sites. I'd also make sure you talk to all the bike shops in the area and let them know what happened. If this jack***** was stupid enough to steal a bike he/she is probably stupid enough to mention it in a local bike shop (if they keep it). The only shop I know of down there that has Specialized is Revoultion on 4th. Make sure you tell them. Lastly, you need to let Robb (TheRobbStory) on here know more about the bike. He's in NY right now, but should be home soon. He rides those streets all the time and knows most of the bike guys down there. If anyone is talking he'll know it. Once again, sorry man.

Yeah, it was locked. And it a relatively safe spot at work. There's a bike on that rack that hasn't moved in 2 months. There's a camera on the spot, so I'm going back in today to talk to security and prolly file a police report. I'm putting together fliers now with a picture. I'll dump them at all the bike shops and pawn shops. I'm thinkin' this was some slick kid, not a crackhead, because what crackhead is even going to make it to the corner on an XL fixed gear? You'd have to be minimum 6'2" just to pedal. When the kids steal 'em they ride one bike and hold the other. Anyway, thanks guys, I'll keep you posted.

sorry to hear this adam. i'll definitely have my eyes open for the bike. haha i think the giveaway will be that it's a langster in st. pete. when someone gets a new bike it sticks out like a sore thumb. the past couple of days i've been finding myself wondering who owns a few of the new bikes i've seen locked up around downtown.

I got some "dirty looks" while riding my '07 Bianchi with Robb a couple months back downtown. I think that might have had something to do with Robb though. Nobody really likes him. lol.

yeah he's universally hated. do you have a front brake on your bianchi? i've seen one a few times and have been wondering who it belongs to.

So here's what happened today. I work for a big local company with a big office building downtown. The security guys were real cool. They had gone back through the security camera footage and found the guy. They had printouts ready for me and everything. I called the police and filed a report today. They took some of the photos as evidence. They told me to call if I found the serial number. Problem is, I only had the bike for 24 hours, so I didn't get to write it down. I'm trying to track it down from the guy who sold it to me. They also told me to check in with the "bike compound" once a week or so, in case it got impounded for some reason.

Anyway, I wanted to share the photos. The quality is terrible, but it's better than nothing:

The time stamp reads 9:44. It took the guy less than a minute to walk up with a backpack, pick or cut the lock and "ride" off. I think one of those heavy chains is in my future.

I'm going to start putting up some fliers at the bike shops. I spoke to a good friend who once had some stuff stolen and later pawned. She said since they basically run their business with stolen goods, the pawn shops are not going to do you any favors. I'll keep an eye out, but without an original receipt or something, I'm basically going to have to buy it back.

First off, I'm sorry to hear about your bike, and the total of two people I know in St. Pete are keeping their eyes peeled.

Secondly, all I'm saying is this: there was a Colnago Super Pista locked up at Central and 5th two days in a row and not a single one of you folks left me a bike note or any sort of acknowledgement at all. "Knows most of the guys down there..." Sure, I'll bet.

Also, the bike lane on 1st, heading toward the pier area. Those train/rail tracks that intersect it. They're perpindicular across the road, but then BAM! they decided to curve them and position them at the worst possible angle for bikes in the bike lane. I just don't get it.

See you guys next weekend. Thatguy, if you planned on coming to the race and that was your only bike, I've got a 60cm fixed under-geared cruiser/rain bike that you can borrow. It's got some "issues" though.

Really sucks that this guy got your bike. Stay positive and I'm sure things will turn out alright. Take Mikeup on his offer and still go up to Gains next weekend. We need to show the guys up there we're willing to make the drive. That way we we get our race together they'll make the trip for us.

No pics, sorry. It's mostly stock. Has all-silver Deep V's. Front brake only. Black stock seat. Black Fizik bar tape. Black Thompson seatpost. It's a 58 or XL, the size sticker is still on the seattube. Thanks for keeping an eye out.

Against Me! is next Wednesday night...still not sure if I'm going now.

alma would be a good place to meet up. if not wed night then thurs night at alma for the $2.50 pints of guinness. if it means i can't race then i'll just meet up after you guys are done discussing the race. also, the owner of alma rides an iro and might be interested in racing which makes it an even better spot to discuss the race.

Dwight at Cafe Alma is a friend and has already been contacted...Cafe Alma is a part of the race.

Todd, Robb and I went out riding one night and ended up at Alma. He came out and talked to us about our bikes and to make friends. I was one pint in at that time, and he brought us two more rounds on the house. Fast foward a week or so:

All of us got together for a ride on the trail and stopped off at this resturant. We were talking about stuff, and my age came up. He found out that I'm 20. He looked real happy :).
