Matt from Jax will be in town tonight and tomorrow. He wants to do some riding...downtown, trail, whatever. We'll probably ride Sunday late morning or early afternoon if anyone is interested.

Heh, Peggy and I rode to Haslam's this afternoon. Stopped by Publix on the way home. Came out and she had a flat. I start riding home to get the car. 15 blocks from home I get a flat. So pissed.

ok, so in the not too distant future bike polo will be part of the fun in st. pete. the few people i've talked to think thurs would work the best (myself included). we're thinking crescent lake tennis courts since they have lights on at night but the location isn't set in stone. we just need to find/build some junkers and it will begin.

I think I need to defend myself about some of the comments that were posted about me. I like to talk about bike parts to other people who know about them. I don't really get to meet to many people that are into bikes so when I was talking about dura ace cranks it probably came off as bragging. I guess I am a bit of weirdo so I apologize for that but I don't think I am much of a mystery guy. I am a bit of a hermit...work, eat, ride bikes, sleep, read stuff, occaisonally ride skateboards, watch basketball and the o.c. on television, etc. Sometimes I get bored and decide to get drunk at the emerald where apparently all of you hang out. so anyways sorry to come off kind of crazy.

by the way, that olmo got stolen from me early january....so if anyones sees it...

I am currently without a track bike and riding that de rosa. and yes I was bragging about that last night but she is my baby. I really don't like riding it but my current project bike has no funding after buying that other bike to replace my olmo.

Still it will do if anyone wants to go on a ride this week. I have been meaning to back out to fort de soto. Something about bypassing the toll booth that I really like. I work downtown in the Suntrust bank building and can meet anytime after 4 or so and be ready to go. Gotta train for the upcoming race. Are we placing bets?

also I really like that white selle san marco pro saddle...she's a beauty.

Thats pretty much it. Bars need to be taped as well I believe. Someone got made at me for not having them taped.

Edit: Also... does anyone know a guy in St. Pete with a blue track bike, white lettering, and white-taped bullhorns? I saw him riding today when I was down there (I called you Robb...) today and freaked. Really nice bike he has.

I personally don't believe bars need to be taped...especially not here in florida but it really helps when it is cold.

Why the heck not? Most of us ride geared bikes too. I don't think anyone in this town is a fixed-gear-only-no-brakes-allowed elitist snob. At least I hope not. I would give 10 times more respect to anyone who rolled up on a unicycle than even the prettiest track bike in the world.

I'm glad eveyone is coming out of the shadows lately. We'll start to get some regular rides together once evryone feels comfortable playing in the group, lol.

Polo would be super sweet also! However... I work until 6 on Thursdays, so if it is before I can't come. Hopefully it happens though. Polo is most amazing.

And i'm crying right now because I just lost a NOS pair of 80's Campy record hubs laced to Mavic OR 10 rims. The bid ended at $118. I have a serious curse.

i think the plans were to have polo start around 6-7 since it we'll have more daylight pretty soon. also, the courts are lit up so it's not too big of a deal if it goes on at night. man that wheelset would've been a steal for that price!

Finally got the Aerospoke back from the painter...still waiting on the rear Velocity. I vow this will be the heaviest bike ever, lol. It will also be the cleanest, until I ride it for 5 minutes then it will be dirtiest. Oh well.

thats tight you making me look kinda bumy that front wheel turned out good you should get the frame powder coated but leav the tail and fork crome you could have the bars done as well that whould look hot
