Hey, so I was in St. Pete last Saturday (bikeless, or else I would have told you folks) and saw a guy walking north on Central in the downtown area arorund noon with a yellow bike. Any of you? I think he had bullhorns, maybe flip n chops.

DoshKel
10-18-06, 07:02 PM
I think that is Dwain. Not sure though.

Was he a big guy?

TheRobbStory
10-18-06, 07:04 PM
Nah, that's Jamie. White tape on the top dube, black on the down?

I was riding with a friend around downtown in the AM. Beautiful day, but windy.

DoshKel

Robb.

You still riding tonight?

TheRobbStory
10-18-06, 07:08 PM
Going on hour 14 at work. Doesn't look like I'll be out of here before 10, but if you want to go grab a beer after that I'd be down. Dunno how far I care to ride tonight, though. I'm a little pooped.

DoshKel
10-18-06, 07:12 PM
****. 14 hours? Yuck.

Eh... I think i'm gonna stay in. I'm also really ****ing tired. I hate shovels and holes.

I'll be out Sunday though. And, if anyone wants to come tomorrow, we are going to ride from Chainwheel. Pool and beer afterwards maybe.

Just found out Piebald is playing with them, but I'm pretty sure that one will sell out.

sinkFLsink
10-21-06, 08:06 AM
Alright so here's the deal. Sunday's ride will head South on the Pinellas Trail. Meet time will be tentaviley set for 4:00PM. Not sure where we want to leave from considering we may be heading back in the dark again.

sinkFLsink
10-22-06, 01:01 PM
New meet time... 330 @ Taylor Park.

DoshKel
10-22-06, 01:15 PM
Done and done. I'll be there.

sinkFLsink
10-24-06, 04:48 AM
I'm not going to make it out to Talloween this weekend. I can't get away from work early enough on Friday to make it out there.

DoshKel
10-24-06, 12:04 PM
****.

We still doing Wed.?

sinkFLsink
10-24-06, 05:47 PM
Not sure on Wednesday either at this point... Might be able to make it out for at least a few drinks.

sinkFLsink
11-04-06, 04:01 PM
Any rides coming up? Slackers abound!

Zen Existence
11-05-06, 11:09 AM
Well it looks like Robb went all corporate on us (looking damn smashing in a tie, one might add) and Luke decided to become a hippy and move to Portland. Wednesday is still the best for me, it's just getting my ass out that way that makes it a pain ...

sinkFLsink
11-05-06, 04:55 PM
Robb went corporate? I call BS!!! Besides, I've been corporate for nearly 10 years and I can still ride (when work allows it).

I'm down for another Wednesday night ride. Let's shoot for this coming Wednesday.

Zen Existence
11-05-06, 06:56 PM
What time? If it's St Pete we're talking 7pm at the earliest for me ...

sinkFLsink
11-05-06, 08:00 PM
7PM works for me, but I'm sure Robb will want to do later. Let's say we meet at 8PM in front of Cafe Alma.

Zen Existence
11-06-06, 07:55 AM
Cafe Alma a place where I can grab a beer while I'm waiting for you guys ... ? Never been.

sinkFLsink
11-06-06, 04:50 PM
Yeah. Cafe Alma has plenty of beer. Stella on tap for $2 a pint on Wednesdays. Place to sit outside, etc. Dwight is the owner and the guy we went riding with a few weekends ago.

11-07-06, 07:31 PM
Oh no... +44 is playing downtown Wednesday night. The kids will be out in force. No worries, just imagine their cones in the road.

TheRobbStory
11-08-06, 02:34 PM
Oh, hey guys.

yeah, Robbie can come out and play tonight.

Oh man... I'm going to save the comments for you in person!

What time did we all agree on tonight? 7PM or 8PM at Cafe Alma... going to be chilly and windy.

TheRobbStory
11-08-06, 05:08 PM
I'm still in Tampa, but I can probably make it there by 7:00. I'm not drinking tonight because I'm freakin' broke after a $300 speeding ticket. Effing cars.

sinkFLsink
11-08-06, 05:22 PM
Alright... I'm leaving here in a few. I should be at the Cafe no later then 730.

TheRobbStory
11-08-06, 05:24 PM
word. Haven't been able to raise Scotty on the cellular.

TheRobbStory
11-08-06, 09:33 PM
You weenies missed a 25 mile tour of the St Pete beaches, as well as some of the more colorful parts of south St Pete. I think I broke Todd. I'm pretty sure I broke my back, too.

Sorry, ladies, was at the clinic until just a bit ago. On the plus side, I got to assist in a dog bite to the face and help ambulate a stroke-in-progress. Not as exciting as breaking Todd but, **** ...

sinkFLsink
11-09-06, 06:51 AM
Hold on... I'm not broke. I felt the pain when Robb took me on a 3 mile jaunt through a NO OUTLET neighborhood, but otherwise I'm alright. LOL, just joking Robb. It was actually a good ride and if we could've taken the wind and chill factor out of last night it would have been that much better. I'm pretty sure we'll end up just riding to Orlando one day. Either that or we hit the Skyway Bridge for a real test.

Scotty, I thought we agreed that November was going to be a better month for your camp...? I'm starting to think you might have some bad juju going on.

Zen Existence
11-09-06, 07:45 AM
No, brother, not bad (nothing like the last two months, christ) just busy; 70+ hours a week busy. Things are getting sorted out, though. Fret not.
I did have time for a quick 20 minute ride around midnight last night, though. Gorgeous weather.

sinkFLsink
11-09-06, 06:04 PM
Yeah, I guess last night was nice out... I was too busy watching Robb lead us into the "NO OUTLET" neighborhoods to have noticed. LOL, just messing with you Robb.

Alright Scotty, lets try again next week.

Robb, here is that race in Dunedin I was talking about...

10th Annual Diabetes Challenge on November 19, 2006 from 9am to 1pm. It is an annual cycling event that allows both avid and recreational cyclists to join together and raise money for the American Diabetes Association.

The event will host a 10K family Ride, and 25K, 50K, and 100K road routes. Last year the event welcomed 550 cyclists and raised more than $75,000.

I'll have to check with my secretary, but I think I can make it.

Out of town the 19th. This is getting lame, damn. What happened to the pub crawl kinda thing you were doing? Seems like a relatively quick, relatively painless excursion ...

TheRobbStory
11-10-06, 09:05 AM
hahaha, Peggy just asked why you're such a b!tch (she even said it with the punctuation in the MIDDLE.)

I pub crawl just about every night of the week. What's so special about that?

Just so you know, it's not actually a race, it's an organized charity ride. Never did this one, but those things are usually pretty fun. A lot of the weekend-warrior roadie types take it pretty seriously if you want to "race" them.

Yeah, I'm not much of a competitor anyhow. I'm registering for the 100k. Anyone want to form a team?

Zen Existence
11-10-06, 02:41 PM
Yeah, ya got me: working 70-odd hours a week makes me a b!tch becuase as I am using one of my four days off this month to get out of Tampa.

Wah.

An hour or two ride with beers inbetween is a hell of a better way to blow off stress in my book.

Unwad those panties, I'll be around more in a bit.

Robb, I think we need to pre-register soon if we're doing this. I see my a$$ coming in close to the end, lol (probably because I'll pull into the Dunedin Brewery). Whatever, it's for a good cause...let's do this.

Scotty, I'm with you on the crawl. It's a little harder for me during the week as I have to be at the office by 7am usually. I'll have the week of Thanksgiving off so we should be able to hit the bars every night people are up for it. Let's give thanks for beer.

TheRobbStory
11-10-06, 05:08 PM
heh, I registered a few hours ago. You doing it fixed or roadie? If I can get new wheels built for the Paramount, I'm riding that. I wasn't tired at all after 25 miles Wednesday night.

sinkFLsink
11-10-06, 07:51 PM
I wasn't tired at all after 25 miles Wednesday night.

LOL, yeah and I heard you switching gears and coasting the whole night.

I just read on the site that helmets are required. That's a deal breaker. I don't own a helmet since I sold my road bike earlier this year. I had planned on riding it fixed for the race.

TheRobbStory
11-12-06, 09:33 AM
I can loan you a helmet.

sinkFLsink
11-12-06, 02:54 PM
Cool, I'll get registered this week.

I went for a ride North on the Trail yesterday with a lady friend. It was cool seeing all the Ironman cats trying the hardest. I saw a few walkers and had to yell out "There's no walking in the Ironman, C'MON!" I think I might have scared the 80 year old man... LOL

sinkFLsink
11-14-06, 04:19 PM
Robb... call me when you can.

TheRobbStory

Never. You broke my heart.

I'm up to $215 in donations!

sinkFLsink
11-15-06, 04:57 PM
Alright... I'm signed up for the 100K. No sweat on the track bike (who needs knees anyway).
