Aside from the grips and brakes, I've got bar-ends, a cycle computer, bell, Cateye headlight, white LED flasher and now also an Airzound horn. It's getting a little crowded. :)

So what's on your handlebars?

Which bike? Some have only brakes and tape, others tape, STI, light, computer. If you need more space check out the Space Bar at Performance Bike. I have used one off and on. They work great.

The road bike has got a Cateye Tomo computer, and a Sports Instruments heart rate monitor, most of the time (I forget which one). The track bike has got nothing. I'm looking to get a wireless computer soon, though.

I've got my bell, a cycle computer, an Arkel Handlebar bag, shifters/brake levers, bar-ends, and a rear-view mirror that plugs into the left-hand end of the bar.

I don't always ride with the handlebard bag mounted. My headlight is mounted on my front pannier rack.

Computer, a piece of foam pipe insulation held on with electrical tape so I can strap my HRM the the handle bars, and bar ends, (yes using bar ends on a recumbent is a cool thing and they work quite well). Clipped to the stem tube is my canister of pepper spray.

Once, when I stopped at a yard sale, the proprietor gave me a small stuffed "Garfield" cat. When I told him I had no place to carry the beast, he brought out a plastic cable tie and secured him to the handlebar of my Peugeot. When I got home, I freed Garfield, and later donated him to an orphanage in Tijuana.

I have thought about going totally retro with a handlebar-mounted water bottle or two, but I do not want to obscure the Capo's ornate head badge. Perhaps the Peugeot UO-8 would be a good candidate.

Computer and handlebar bag. I'm thinking of adding one of those (http://store6.yimg.com/I/silly-goose_1731_1446363) to scare pedestrians off the bike path.

Other than my brake/shifters and bartape, nothing other than my gloved hands. Never owned a heartrate monitor or a bicycle computer. Can't acutally see a use for them really, other than to keep the LBS in buisness. I pretty much can tell how my body is doing by my internal feedback system and it's main processor.
Try it sometime. Listen to your body. It has all the data you need, correlated, continuosly updated, adjusted for both internal and external realtime variable multi-inputs.

Shimano Flight Deck (cyclocomputer) and Polar S 510 heart rate monitor.

By the way...thanks for posting the photos khuon. My Flight Deck was installed by my LBS and I've never been completely happy with it's location. Your photos made the obvious alternative apparent.

No problem. Do you mean my installation on my MTB or RB? If RB, are you talking about the twirling of the brifter interface wires around the brake cables? Someone told me a long time ago to twirl your excess wiring around your brake cables for a cleaner installation. It's supposed to look more professional that way... kinda like aligning the label of your tyres with your valvestem. Curiously enough, my computers were also originally installed by my LBS with the excess wires just taped in a loop with electrical tape. I redid the installation when I had rewrapped my handlebar tape. If you decide to do this, you will have to remove one side of the connections either at the brifter or the mount. I decided to run the wires straight alongside the brake cables under the tape and then start twirling it in the bare. To do this, I removed the right side connection at the mount. There are two screws in the bottom. Be careful not to lose the rubber seal and not to get any gunk into the contact holes. I was then able to twirl the left side (mount, left side connector, and left side wires) independently from the right (right connector and wires). Make sure to leave a little bit of slack so that your cables' movements don't eventually strain the interface wires causing a breakage. Also make sure to get the contacts fully reseated otherwise your gear display and candence won't function right.

Installing it was the easy part. Programming it took a bit more time actually.

It basically installs like any other computer except that you need to run the interface wires to your shifters. You don't need much more than a screwdriver. For MTB shifters this is easier since you just need to take off the mechanical OGDs and replace them with the interface connectors. For RBs you need to... well.. not need but probably want to remove the tape up to the hoods, peel back the hoods, remove the cover where the interface connector goes and attach the connector then rewrap your tape. Then of course you need to play with the computer head and program all the gears in addition to programming in the normal things that you would for other computers such as time and wheel circumference. If you want a preview of the manual, Look at this post:

http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread.php?s=&threadid=21967&highlight=SC6501

Although it doesn't have install instructions, it does have programming ones.

Hmmm... I lied. It does have install instructions on page 7.
