Beautiful Schwinn. I rode with a guy once last year that was on one simular, but I think his was actually the coppertone color. Personally, I'd probably take the blue cause that's just my color, but a Ti Paramount is beautiful in any color.

I'm not sure what is up with the current high bidder. I did a bidder search on him and in the last month he has bought over $6500 worth of Paramounts and related gear. He has received feedback on very few of them. He is presently also high bidder on just about every Paramount on ebay, including one that I am interested in. He should have payed for and received more than four of them by now. Where is the feedback? Something smells fishy here.

How about a profit motive?

Buy up as many Paramount bikes and frames as possible, driving up the price in the process. Once the prices go up high enough, those really wanting them will keep the demand high, and then there is suddenly someone sitting on the side lines who happens to have a few nice Paramounts to sell.

Seems kind of crazy, but would probably work, although seems like a lot of work and i think you would have to wait some time to get a big return.

The other thing I am wondering is: Is this really a paramount? I mean it was made after schwinn was sold right? who would have made it? Waterford didn't make any schwinns after '92 did they? I should know this stuff...

The eBay listing says it was by Serotta.

Correct, Serotta did build the Ti paramounts. However don't think you're
getting a bargain Ti Serotta, it isn't. Ben, Dave Kirk, Kelly B. et al did not
design the frame, and the tubes are not colorado concept. The tubing was
outsourced from Russia (I think thats right). All Ben and Co. did was build em.
Now that isn't to say its any less well made than a Ti Serotta, same craftsmen.

It struck me as odd, too.

I've decided to stifle the buying urge for a while and wait until the Waterford lugged road bike made from Reynolds 953 tubes (with a 531 fork) is ready for prime time, which should be any time. The first one is polished and looks like my P15, and was just delivered to a customer in the S.F. Bay Area. The 62cm frame weighs 3.75 pounds. Waterford used Richard Sachs stainless Newvex lugs on this particular frame.

Using 953 stainless steel tubes it's hardly vintage, but it sure is classic!

Yep, I still have the lemon P13, Bob. As much as I like it, it's too small for me so I'll probably sell it at some point. I've been using it for guests to ride, so it has been getting exercised.

Cool bike Stan! I just became aware of, and started reading about the new Reynolds 953 tubing this past week. I'd love to have one too, but I think it will be out of my price range.

Maybe it's just low res. pics, but the polishing on that bike doesn't look all that great. I think the finish on your chrome plated Paramount looks much better.
