Hi,
Can anyone recommend a place around White Plains, Westchester + surrounding counties, or NYC? I'm considering a fitting for my road bike (Trek 1000)...i'm a new rider, and although I'm not experiencing any pain, and I've made a couple of small adjustments myself, I'm not confident in the "quickie" fit my LBS did when I bought the bike.

Does anyone have any experience with Altheus, in Rye?

Thanks,
S

Same basic situation -- I've been riding for a while but always wanted to get my fit just right. Does anyone have suggestions for a place to get fitted in the city?

I've heard about Altheus... that's the place to go if you want the absolute, best professional fitting... but I'm sure they charge accordingly... I've been riding for 2 years now on "quickie" fittings and so far had no issues... for my $600 starter bike I got a "Stand over your bike" fitting and for my $2000 bike they actually pulled out a trainer for me to sit on the bike and check out my foot, arm and knee positions, LOL
Ironically, both bikes are set up exactly the same... you can't beat an experienced wrench.

Toga on WEA around 64th can do a fitting. Larry & Jeff's on 3rd & 79th has a Serrotta fitting machine too.

peirmont bicycles also does fittings. but just remember that all fittings are not the same, just make sure you know what you're looking to get out of a fitting.

I was happy with my Toga fit. And there's a Toga in Nyack now too, which might be more convenient for you, I don't know.

Alan - i think that's his name - at Roy's Sheepshead Cycles is almost legendary, if you're willing to go that far. He set me up on my first bike AGES ago.
That dude's still there and he'll throw the fitting in when you buy the bike from him. I bought my Haro from him in '91.
