Folding Bikes - Two New Folding Bike Web Sites Available Now

I am very pleased to announced the completion of both of my interrelated Web sites entitled "World Of Folding Bicycles." Flickr is hosting my photos and Geocities is hosting my more traditional text based site.

What combination of chain-ring/cog ratio do you use? If you drop to a 49 Direct drive (2nd gear), 1st gear will only take you to 36 or inches (or somewhere around there) which I consider high for hills. Just curious.

I know of only one other person who replaced their derailuer system on the Boardwalk. My first Piccolo was falling apart but the Sturmey Archer 3 speed hub was working like a charm.

I still like derailuers for hills and light touring but I'm happy to have a Presto 3 speed again.

Similar yet a bit different for each bike. For the Dahon, I have a 14t cog and a 44t chainring, For the Brompton, it is 13t cog and 46 chainring, and my old Phillips, a standard cog for that day (I am not too sure what it is exactly except that it works for me. I am not a very powerful rider, but I don't have any problem with the Dahon, I am thinking in the future to replace the Brompton rear cog to a 16t or even 18t and leave everything else alone.
