I can get both ROCKHOPPER 2003 (the standard, not the comp) and the RAINIER 2003 for the same price.
The store price for the Rainier is $700 and the Rockhopper $450. But I can get both for the same price, cause I have the contacts.
Why is most of the people telling me to get the Rockhopper?

Rockhopper is Specialized. Rainier, GIant.
Rainier comes with Axel Super fork (alu) , Rockhopper comes with the Axel comp (steel).
Rainier is 9 speed and Rockhopper is 8 speed.
Rainier comes with clipless Shimano pedals.

Even with those differences (advantages), most people are saying to get the Rockhopper.
Why?
Do you have a different opinion?
Thanks

People are more apt to tell you to buy from the company they ride, specailized and trek are the nikes of this sport, a lot of peolpe have thier bikes. Go for what you like, and as a rainier rider myself, I know you can't do much better than a gaint.

I went with the rainier, and I urge anyone looking in its price range to follow my lead, its a great bike.

People may have recommended the Rockhopper because of the cheaper price and maybe they over looked what price range you were in or maybe you did not specify.

If you can get a 700 dollar bike for 450 I think it would be beneficial to get the most for your money.
