For the last couple of years I’ve developed subcutaneous cysts in the nether regions during the ride season. A month off the bike and there gone, less than 200 miles into the next year, they’re back. Does anyone else have this problem? Is there anything I can do (I’ve gone through refitting the bike and a couple of saddles) to suppress\treat this?

I've had them twice. Here's the cure.

Razor Blade
Rubbing Alcohol
Band Aids
Beer

Take a bath, swab the cycst with alcohol, sterilize the blade with alcohol, slam beer and go to town. Works like a charm, just cut with a firm hand and get that baby out. I screwed up the last time, I was a little tentative and ended up with some scarring. Of course, you sort-of have to enjoy performing minor surgery to do this. Frankly, I'd rather mess around down there than have a doctor do it. It hurts far less than leaving it.

depending on the specifics of the cyst... youd just be better off to drop your pride and go to your doctor (and then drop your pants). its curious though that you say they go away when you stop biking.. so it doesnt sound like the same cyst that i had a few years ago. after living with it for almost a year, i finally did something about it and went to my doctor.. he removed it with a local anasthetic, and stitched me up.. unfourtunately that didnt do the trick for good... it came back and i went to a surgeon and had the whole "infected" area removed practically down to the tailbone.. no problems since then..
