Mountain Biking - Wife skipped town...good ride time.

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
I'm on call this weekend and my wife and daughter went outta town so I'm kickin it solo.
I went for such a great ride yesterday after work.
I usually meet a group on Fri. We rode until they were done, then I rode for a while on my own. I decided to give it all I had as I ended my ride. I approached the trail head and I saw another riding buddy of mine getting ready to ride.
What the heck. I went out a 3rd time. MAN was I a broken man at the end of the day. It was a wonderful ride night. I haven't had a chance to ride that much all at once in a long time.

I like the way you think. One of my wife's friends invited her to a wedding...in Minnesota.
Airline tickets, car rental, and hotel reservations: nearly $800
Gas money, food, and beverages for a few days of uninterrupted mountain biking: about $200
Wife calling to ask if she can stay an extra day: priceless!

Funny how other people live...
I ride like that all the time. My loving wife doesn't mind, and my 3 Kid's get plenty of my attention on my non-riding days, and after my rides on my ride days...
Most people look for excuses NOT to ride.
I look for excuse TO ride...
I suppose that's why I ride alone 99.99999999999% of the time, huh?
I love to see eBay bikes for sale because "New baby, and don't have time for riding anymore".
I've seen that excuse over a dozen times...

The wife and I have a deal. I don't bug her for more sex then she wants and she does not bug me for cycling all I want.
My wife would rather see me riding all the freaking time, if not spending time with my two kids, than hanging out at the bar or doing something "bad bad bad" as she would say. So yeah I get lots of great riding time as well and it rocks!

With everyone here having children, buy them some bikes. Make it a family activity.

Good point, but my wife married me knowing full well that I'm not that kind of person anyway. I usually get 2 set days a week to do scheduled rides and usually 2 more on the weekend. So I usually get 4 days a week to hit the trail, but I don't usually get to spend more than a couple hours at a time. She never say's "no you can't ride...we gotta do (blank)". It's more like me being a "sensative male" and probing her mind for what would make her happy, whether it be getting stuff done around the house or just simply spending quality time with her.
My daughter actually loves to ride our local trail on the seat on the back of my bike. It's comical. She say's "Faster Faster!"
It sucks right now b/c it's done nothing but rain since I started this thread so that was my last ride. I guess it's probably best b/c I'm secretly remodeling our nursery while she's gone. It just gives me more time for that, I suppose. She'll be so stoked that she may just say hey go ride for 4 hours, hehe.
