I need a replacement for the one I removed from my specialized hardrock(2001 or 2000). the label is partially destroyed and no longer legible but this seems to be the size based on the measurements. I can't find it online except in one UK shop.

That's a common replacement part. Any LBS can get one for you through QBP or J&B. Full retail is around $20.00 or $25.00.

thanks. I remeasured it and it turns out to be a 110 mm. Also made the mistake of using 2.45 instead of 2.54 for converting from inches to metric. I ordered from jensonusa this afternoon.

BTW this is the most mechanical I've ever been with the bike. Hooray! Removed the cranks after doing quite a bit of head scratching regarding the crank puller but couldn't get the bottom bracket off by myself so I took it to a LBS where the guy even addded leverage with a pipe unsuccessfully. turns out he was going in the wrong direction same as I was. (No, I didn't tell him which way to turn it). I told him about trying the huge bench vise in the corner but said " I know what you're describing but it won't work". I guess park tools recommendation was off the mark... Liquid wrench overnight and a nice 1 1/4" wrench bought in Auto zone did the job and of course going in the right direction.
