I took a rather hard fall on our club ride last Saturday. (Actually my first fall - rain caught us, crack at an angle between two road slabs with a 2" height diff - with the slick street it took me down and I slid hard.
With tagaderm the road rash is gone now but the bruise is really ugly. The ugly does not concern me but the part that is still swollen does. It has been basically a week. Bruise is bright red fading into yellow / black. The generalized swelling is down a bit.
The whole bruise is like 6"x9" but the swollen part is about 2x3 and hurts. Kind of like a huge zit in the muscle. Does not hurt to bear weight on it. Only hurts when sitting in particular seats (bike seat feels fine)
I was able to complete the 20 mile ride Sat and put another 65 on Sunday without any major problem. Actually feels great on the bike other than a bit of generalized soreness.
Will gently rubbing on it help break up any clotted crud. I dont think it is unreasonable to still be swollen considering the hit, what do you think?
I have a MD appointment Monday just in case.
Thanks.
