This place is starting to suck.
Its not fun like it used to be.
I dont log on and feel happy.
I just feel like i should be out riding, digging holes and or working on my bike instead of posting on here...

Im thinking about slowing down a bit with posting...

I probly won't be riding for atleast another 3-4 months... I have to wait til
A. I'm out of a cast
B. after the cast, I need to be out of the leg brace I'll be in
C. after I go through rehab
D. my leg is as close to 100% as possible
E. my mom finally gives in and lets me ride again

that sucks man, why dont you take up another hobby for the moment, like stamp collecting

FitRider 921
10-22-06, 12:49 PM
Haha. stamp collecting? why would I possibly waste my money on stamps, which are now pretty expensive (for stamps)? I think I'd rather collect lint... it's free.

Im not exactly sure what you did to your leg, but why in the hell is it taking forever to heal?

Note: The only reason im posting is becuase i just dug for like 3 hours at our trails are im too tired to go out riding.

Well, I broke my tibia, fibula, and ankle, all in one shot. The ankle is no biggie, it's been healed for about two months now. The tibia and fibula on the other hand, are two bones that take a very long time to heal- usually about 4 months, and then rehab and all that kind of stuff after the 4 months.

Well how long has it been, and is everything going smooth or have thier been problems...

I broke my leg at the very end of July. I had surgery like two weeks into June. Then, two weeks after that, the doctor said my bone alignment was off by about a millimeter or two, so he had to rebreak it (completely starting over the healing process). So, now I've just been chilling out with a leg cast up to my nuts for a while, and still have a while to go.

Yeah, it wasn't too good. It didn't feel too good either. Try having a man twisting and pushing on your completely shattered leg, with his hands, with all his strength, for about 5 minutes straight. Most people passout when that happens with just a little fracture. Somehow, I didn't passout.

I can arrange that! :D

C. after I go through rehab

E. my mom finally gives in and lets me ride again

Dude, I've been there, sort of. Broke my hand when I was fifteen. Swapped my brake to the left side so I could still go ride (and jump). My dad drove past the track one day and caught me. A week later, when I tried to take driver's training at school, they told me I'd have to wait until my cast was off. Broken bones suck.

but thats only a shorter version of A, no B, no C, not too much of D, and no E... my mom is totally against me riding again

Riding sucks in the winter, I'm probably going to get fat from not doing enough of it.

I was riding along yesterday, and I ran over some thorns that some dickheads dumped in the middle of the road, and my back tube probably won't hold air anymore... I'm too lazy to get a new one yet, maybe in a week or two. It sucks that the resale value on bikes is so bad, or I'd probably sell one or both of them to buy another lens, and just build up a bike with the stuff I wanted when I could afford it. I suck at BMX anyway, and it's no fun when I don't have anyone to ride with and it's cold.

I just sold another 1N. Not parting with any lenses though. I love my 70-210 f2.8. :D

Don't slit your wrists madman, it's okay, you'll get through it.

MadMan2k
10-22-06, 08:50 PM
Not going to slit my wrists, selling a bike is not really the same thing at all...

Expat, I sold the XT and my zooms and 50 to get a Leica M3 and a couple primes for it. Kept the 1N though, and the 8mm fish, since I plan on getting another Canon DSLR after next spring semester is over.

Jibberish.

Brian
10-22-06, 09:20 PM
I'm down to the D60, a 1V, a 1N, and maybe 6 or seven lenses. Oh, and 10S. Plus various lesser cameras. Even sold an 800Ws lighting kit. The M3 is an odd choice, but you'll get good results once you learn how to use it.

MadMan2k
10-22-06, 09:41 PM
I wanted to give just film a try to see how I liked it. I can't afford a film scanner yet though, since I don't have a job; about the only money I get is from random computer repair work, print sales (not enough!), and selling the stuff I have. I just got the Voigtlander 35mm 2.5 for now, but next I'll either get a 75mm 2.5, or a couple M42 mount lenses for the 1N, haven't decided yet.

Brian
10-22-06, 09:42 PM
I'd like a range finder one day. The newer Voigtlanders are sweet, and not too pricey. Maybe if I sold some more spare bike gear, and all the extra furniture we have around here...

MadMan2k
10-22-06, 09:50 PM
Eventually I'll get to go up to Utah and shoot somewhere, you can come and try it out then :p

I looked at the Voigtlanders too, but it seemed like the viewfinders and stuff weren't as nice, and used Leicas don't seem to go down too much in price so you can resell them (The damn thing is 46 years old and probably cost like twice as much as it did new... it's an over-1mil serial and single stroke, though)

Brian

Plenty to shoot up here. We'll do a bike/photo tour.
