My parents lead very inactive lifestyles. My grandfather passed away due to stroke recently and I don't want the same thing happening to my parents. I intend to buy pedometers for my parents together with my brother.
Can any of you recommend the various brands of pedometer so I can like check them up? Thanks!

Sorry, Oxylogic, I don't know, but walking is a great exercise.
The lady that babysat for my 75 year-old mother walked for exercise until she died in her 90's.

Good job. I'm in the process of trying to convince my parents to do some walking also. My aunt walks for an hour every morning and is in phenominal shape. I know if my parents put their mind to it, they could exercise too.
Having said that, try this website. They have only the best quality heart rate monitors and pedometers: http://heartmonitors.com/pedometers/index.htm
Let me know how it goes.
