I have been out of the country for the past six months. I am back in Michigan /California for a month or more. Looking about music stores I am baffled about what is new and good. Have not heard much new music in all those months.
I like Alternative adult music. Music such as Cowboy Junkies, Keane,Howie Day, Jason Mraz,U2, Sarah McLachlan, Neil Young. Any new releases from the past six months, you'd suggest I listen to ; to consider buying. Appreciate your suggestions. Just looking at the wall of music and do not know what to consider.
Wish I could find an international outlet for people overseas to stay aware of what US music is fresh. Like Satellite systems, etc.
There are many internet radio stations where you can listen to the newest that the States has to offer.

Cowboy Junkies is my favorite band. :)
I can't think of anything "new" in the last 6 months that has me sprawling to tell you, but from your list it sounds like our tastes are very similar. Let me recommend a few other artists I like a lot.
Neko Case
Lisa Loeb
Tres Chicas
Camera Obscura
Jewel
Sheila Chandra
October Project
Natalie Merchant
16 Horsepower
Alison Krauss
Bonnie Raitt
Dido
Emmylou Harris
P.S. I started a thread about obscure bands the other day and mentioned a few of these with links to youtube videos. It got moved to the entertainment/music subforum. You might check it out to see a few of them.

Here are some current releases over the past couple of months that I like: :)
Mew - Glass Handed Kites (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/And_the_Glass_Handed_Kites)
TV On the Radio - Return to Cookie Mountain (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Return_to_Cookie_Mountain)
Califone - Roots and Crowns (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Califone)
And KT, I like Camera Obsucra alot. Saw the Cowboy Junkies about 4 or 5 years ago when they came to Atlanta. I actually talked to Margo Timmins after the concert concluded.

That's cool....I got into them about 4 years ago and I've never seen them coming in concert here since then, so I've never had the chance to see them.
I'm suprised you've heard of Camera Obscura. I haven't met another person yet who'd even heard of them.

What do people think of the new Springstein, Neil Young cd's? Anything new by Melissa Etheridge? I understand Dylan has a new cd out? Man, I love seeing the gold and red of the Michigan forest. If only I had a bike. Found a spot in Ann Arbor where I can rent one.. But, Detroit radio, sucks. appreciate Ziemas ' clue to internet radio.
Shouldn't this really be in B, M, M &E?
Just askin'?

Bruce Springsteen is ok, kinda hit and miss IMO. He's got some great stuff, but some of his stuff is kinda crappy too.
Neil Young. I don't know a "lot" of his stuff, but I don't think I've ever heard one that I didn't like.
Melissa Ethridge is pretty good. Kinda like Bruce Springsteen in that she's kinda hit and miss with me too, but probably more a slightly higher "hit" ratio than Bruce.
Speaking of Melissa though, reminded me of the Indigo Girls....another one of the most talented songwriters ever!!
If you want some melodic screamo, posthardcore or emo music check out saosin, Underoath, chasing victory, alesana, alexisonfire, before today.

I did not mean 'blue star advice' in any kind of condenscending way. Some think cops can be both, good cop/ bad cop. By advice, I Just meant your were being helpful. More often than not, I think/hope the role of my cop is to help in retrieving that kitten out of the tree.
thanks.

He's not new, but still, check out John Frusciante, it sounds like he might fit into your mold, and he definetly won't let you down!

This site is really cool, you type in an artist you like, it will find similar stuff and play it.
