Hi,

I am planning a trip from Budapaest to Rome and need a few idea's from the guys out there who have been there. To make it easy I will have seperate posts for each section.

I plan to generally follow the Danube from Budapest to Vienna via Esztergom, Tata, Gyor, Masonmagyarovar, Hainburg. It is around 350km and I plan to take 5 or 6 days. As we aussies need visa's to get into these countries I will bypass Slovakia to save a few dollars. (unless someone can convince me otherwise?)

What I need is idea's and recommendations on towns to see, sites to visit and budget hotels to stay at. Maybe also places to eat, a good pub or whatever. I have read numerous travelogues but they are generally light on in this department.

If your response to too big for this forum please email me at:
mat664@iinet.net.au

Thanks,
