Mountain Biking - Could somebody tell me good entry level full suspension bikes?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

What are good entry level FS bikes? Also, are there any used bikes that were once upper end bikes in there time, but now can be bought used cheaper than there new counterparts, but still have better performance potential.
Thanks!

p.s. I have read so many posts that I have searched for and found, but am still quite unsure on what are the good bikes to look at.

I love my Jamis Dakar XLT 1.0, I purchased an 06 model in August of this year, and no problems so far.

I would buy a Jamis Dakar Sport. They run around $800

+3, I third the nomination of Jamis. I got my Jamis as a leftover from 05 just a few weeks agao. I saved over $300. Ask your LBS for any leftover's. Fuji has good bikes also.

Yeah, man. I built my Dakar XLT for around $950. It's sweeeet. I wouldn't consider it an entry level bike though. The XLT 1.0 maybe. The Dakar Sport, definately...but still a good ride nonetheless.

You could also look at the KHS XC104. Pretty heavy, but way cheap and still works well from what I've read.
