General Cycling Discussion - Problems with Bolle Vigilante RX insert

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
I just got the inserts back from the optometrist and after 2 try's and 6 weeks they still aren't right. My optometrist seems to be at a loss about what to do. He said he talked to Bolle, but I don't think I can ride with them. Depth perception is off, and other problems I really can't describe. Does anybody have any experience with these or know a company that has experience with the prescription inserts?
Thanks,
Gary

I've used the Bolle inserts for the last couple of years with no problems. One source of concern might be if your prescription includes the distance between pupils. I've noticed in mail order ads, that they always make sure to advise customers to include this measurement.
I got mine from Oakley Optical here in Winnipeg. I don't know if they can help you, but here's their URL:

Good Luck!

I have been riding with mine since Bolle came out with the smaller frame version that is called the Parole. My Dr hit mv prescription perfect the first time and I have not had any problems at all. I have had my Rx changed once but I don't remember if they said anything or not about the width measurement or not.
