I'll plan a "chowda" ride, Luwin! We'll start in Thousand Oaks and ride 100 to Ledbetter, grab a bowl and then take the Amtrak back. Always thinking of anohter ride...:D

100 miles just for chowder? This had better be some good chowder! ;) If I'm free the day of the ride, I'm probably in.

gulp...thanks, Bill...no, really...thanks a lot. psst...I'm skeered and chicken - my one and only outing was on Marshall Canyon and it scared me to death. The single track was spooky and I had to walk it. But thanks for the offer and I suspect I'll need a beginner's on a fire road ride to get me going.

Come on M.E....I am nervous also...but I am willing to give it a shot!!

This chowder better be non-dairy.

If you left from Moorpark or Simi Valley, you can park your car in the Metrolink parking lot and take the train right to your car.

You guys crack me up! (in a good way) :p No need to be nervous, and, yes, Fixer, we'll either find you non-dairy chowder or how about some fried shrimp? Either way, I may very well map out at least a 75 miler up the coast (but not along PCH the whole way!), into Ventura/Port Hneueme (sp?) and we'll grab some chowda! It will be fun!!!! Of course, I'm looking at Jan/Feb for dates at this point. We're all pretty booked until then I think. And I have to figure out how I'm going to get up Crystal Lake on December 17th! I guess I'll just have to follow right on up real close behind you boys (or real close on your boy behinds) for motivation...:D

Speaking of ride dates getting snapped up way too fast...

M.E., are we still on for Dec 30? Should I start a thread about it? Or would you like to do the honors?

Sat Dec 30 is M.E.'s first full day back from her trip back to Tennessee. Weather permitting, we're thinking of doing East Fork/GRR/Baldy up to the lifts. It would be M.E.'s first trip up to the lifts.

We're definitely on for the "Post Holiday Bloat Ride" on December 30th. Jason, please feel free to do the honors of starting the thread (If you want, or I can...I'm not shy :p ). I wouldn't miss it for the world. Of course, I'm going to have to dig my quads up and out of all the fat that will have slid down my belly and butt, settling just over my knees. Ahhh...southern food, nothing like it. :D

when you say it, it just sounds so much hotter!

M.E., why don't you go ahead and start the thread? You actually know where we intend to start and where we're having lunch afterward. All I have is a detailed mental map from the village to the lifts.

:roflmao: Yeah, rolls of fat down to my knees swishing in the wind as I ride...now THAT'S HOT! :p

Okay, and I'll ask Caligurl to post it in the sticky Upcoming Rides thread. :D
