Is there an easy way to determine what kind of chain that a chain is?
I'm going to be looking through a bunch of unpackaged chains and want one for my 12 speed or my 10 speed.
Thanks!

Sheldon Brown's site seems to be down, but here is a wiki article:

Basically, yfor your bike, anything with a 3/32" internal width would work well. This basically means anything except for single speeed chains (1/8" internal width)... but even they might work for you, just not as well.

Thanks, I think I'll just grab everything and sort it out when I get home.
I'll say that the various stuff has no value, so that my money can go to tools.
