I got my sure fire G2 flashlight based on everyones recomendations (for night time down town self defence) . It was 36 bucks at my local army navy store. the 60 lumen bulbt it came with was pretty bright, but I went ahead and ordered the 120 lumen bulb and a box of batteries from the sure fire website directly. If you plan to use this flashlight as a self defense weapon, the upgraded bulb (i think it was like 20 bucks) is priceless. Blinding. The beam that thing puts out is simply blinding. I know there are a few of you out there with this light so i figured i would post this review... the battery time is only 10-20 minutes though, so if you do upgrade, don't plan on using it as a normal flash light.

Now all I have to do is wait for my "backup plan" to come in at the same army navy store... that is a 24" expandable police baton :) .

Aren't these batteries kinda expensive?

Yeah, they were 21 bucks for 12. but if you are using it only seconds at a time, that box will last for quite a long time!

I bought my D3 from lapolicegear.com for $60 and it came with 10 free batteries and free shipping. I also have a C2 and a rechargeable Mag light. The Maglight is as bright as my car's headlights.

Fenex has 3 watt lights like the surefires, they're LED's that put out something like 120 lumens and last 3+ hours on 2 AA's. Can't beat that. Or I can bump my HID up to 600 lumens and blind them. :)

Before ordering the 120, did you verify that the 60 lumen bulb couldn't drop you to the floor vomiting? :)

If you want to defend yourself with light here:

It's a LED flashlight with a green laser (like the ones someone was flashing at pilots a few years ago).
It almost a light saber.
