This kind of jack-leg anti-bike lane rhetoric is a disgrace to bicycling crackpots everywhere. The average Forester-spouting nutcase could do better. Sheesh! At least you could have mentioned pine needles, or 'incompetent cycling', or mentioned a complex (like the 'cyclist inferiority complex') or used the word 'discrimination' a zillion times (as Forester, a.k.a. "The Great One", has been known to do) or emphasized that you are an "experienced high mileage road cyclist", whatever TF that's supposed to signify.

If the whole world truly paid attention to any one of them and actually lived their lives by their precepts - not according to the gloss that later fanatics put on those teachings, but according to the teachings themselves - this planet would be a much, much nicer place on which to exist and most of the world's problems would simply disappear.

As for the people who have pulled some of history's most vile stunts in the name of Jesus, or Muhammed, or Buddha, or any of a host of other spiritual figures - those folks have one heck of a lot to answer for.
