First of all the safety aspect of this is a load of ****, if your a non-cyclist!

With where the bridge is currently going to be placed there is no other way to connect to the existing trail system in Dakota Dunes, except to use roadway that leads to the Two Rivers Golf Course. this road has no sidepath/walk. So the users that are not on bike will have to walk on the road. this road is pretty busy during golf season. Though it is a minor travelled road it does connect to a busier 4 lane road that crosses over I-29. Again it has no sidewalk/path for non-cycling users to take advantage of. It intersects with the entrance exit ramps to the interstate.

It is safer for non-cycling users to walk on the sidewalk up Riverside Blvd/Hwy 12 turn left at the intersection of Riverside & Military Rd, cross into South Dakota, use the MUP in North Sioux City to Sioux Point Rd, walk along the shoulder of Sioux Point Rd into Dakota Dunes & access the trail from there. Eventually there will be a MUP connecting the Dunes & North Sioux City trails along Sioux Point Rd.

Those *******s in the Dunes got there way & the bridge is not being dorectly connected to "their" trail thus making it harder for non-cycling trail users from using it. Sioux City compromised on way to much on this just to get a measly $50,000 from Dakota Dunes to help with the funding. The bridge is $500,000.

I'll post a link to the area I am talking about later.
