looking for a nice pedal, reasonable price, it doesnt matter if its a good pedal, i work at a lbs, so i can get whatever u guys tell me is good, and im looking for one i can use with normal use AND be comfortable like a regular platform pedal, and something that i can clip into, but i dont want them super big, because i like to lean in a lot on the turns, and i want something that can last a long long time, any suggestions, i was thinking the Shimano PD-M545 Pedals, because they will work with my shoes, but, are these pedals comfortable everyday pedals with just ordinary shoes? or does that little spring contraption thing inside make a hot spot in the middle?

Have been using them for 6 weeks now....finally gave in and went the clipless approach....commute every day 12.4 miles each way, getting ready to leave 11/6 for a 440mi tour..Cape Coral to Jacksonville...bought Lake Mtb shoes...can walk around office and plant floor in them and not have to listen to the click, click.....very easy to unclip at stop lights, etc....have not fallen yet..(having said that, I recognize that I am doomed)....have made several 3-4 mile trips on errands with regular sandals and with sneakers, and have not noted a problem.....
Did have to adjust seat a bit higher as was used to platform pedals and pressure point was always on arch of foot rather than on ball of foot now.....
