Hey, that's a cool bridge. I wish I had a yard that I could build stuff like that in. I would love to build a big course and not have to worry about it being sabotaged like some of the north shore stuff is.

BTW...what kind of bike do you have ?

the pic is a little deceiving at mount hood. it was a lot steeper than it looks. but i'm not trying to say i'm some master downhiller or anything. if i had bigger balls and a bigger bike then dropping off the rocks would have been fun! anyways, it always seems like the camera isn't there when you want it too, eh?

those of you who go bigger, do you have any pics? it would be nice to see some--- they'd put xc riders like me to shame, i'm sure.

You forgot the most critical picture of all. Your X-Ray and subsequent story involved!

i wish it was from biking, at least then it would have probably been an attempt at something bigger than i should have done. i actually broke it in a soccer match. i don't know if anyone else has broken their leg, but i heard a loud POP!
it was intense. anyways, i guess it was good it happened in december, so i didn't have to miss too much good spring and summer riding. i did miss the snowboard season completely, but i heard the snow here was crappy, so all is well. i am almost healed now, so i'm able to ride my road bike and commute to work. but the way i ride in the mountains i need to wait another month or so to make sure it's completely healed. missing a few races and good times in the meantime
after being an adrenaline junkie boy my whole life, i'm so suprised this was the first time i've ever broken a bone.
oh, i wish i could get the x-rays. it made me cringe when i saw them in the operating room and my leg was broken in half.
anyways, safe riding everyone!! :D

hey gonesh9 is that post canyon where all of those bridges and stuff are? those are some pretty sweet pics. oh and by the way the snow was crap on hood it was icy on some spots and rocks and grass in other spots I got a huge gash on my board courtesy of the mountain:eek:

ya, the bridges and stuff were in post canyon, mostly in this insane area where there was a sign saying "south shore"- it looked like videos i've seen of the north shore. i've only been up there a few times, but it was a lot of fun. makes me want a longer travel bike for rides like that. there were dudes hucking 20 feet drops-- fun to watch for sure!
ya, all my riding buddies told me if i had to miss a winter of boarding it was good that it was this year. do you ride post canyon and around hood river? where else do you ride? i really liked larch mountain too- there's a loop that's alright, but then there's also this hiking trail that cuts between the loop that is extremely steep and rocky. people hiking up couldn't believe we were riding down it--

Would have gone bigger but I was racing a timer on the camera. I didn't have anyone to take the pics. The colors had to be sacrificed to get the image down to size…

i'll have to check that out, sounds fun--

i always get lost up there, so can't explain it correctly. i just know we went up the gravel road for a bit, then turned off the right onto a trail, which weaved it's way around with many off-shoot trails, but about 1/2 way around the loop an offshoot trail took us to the shore area. you know when you get there, it is amazing.

I don't think I've ever heard of Larch Mtn. where is it?

it's about 1/2 way between portland and hood river, off of the old historic highway. there are awesome views, and the downhill is screaming if you go the right way. only thing is it's pretty snowy for about 10 months out of the year up there, so you have to hit it in august or september.

no no no...these are like my dream areas. keep em coming! there are NO obstacles here...

i'll get a few more posted later- my friend's got some good pics we took that i'll have to borrow.
