Advocacy & Safety - Update on the 12 year old boy

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Well, they charged the guy who killed the boy with misdemeanor manslaughter, which carries at most a 12 month term in jail.
Local cyclists are pretty outraged. He'll probably plea no contest, get let out early due to jail overcrowding, and meanwhile, that boy is dead forever.
And it's the same DA that has a thing for protecting young boys from Michael Jackson. Why does he think MJ is such a menace to young boys but reckless drivers are not?

Because one gets him more national attention than the other.
I don't trust law enforcement nor any other law official. Seems like they care more about expanding their egos/wallets than doing their jobs properly.

If not misdemeanor manslaughter, what do you think the DA should charge him with?

Well, yeah, obviously. The DA doesn't occupy a warm and fuzzy place in many hearts around here.
