Foo - Hey san francisco peeps

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Me and my brothers are meeting up with my auntie in San francisco at "tadich grill". It's on California Street, and we're driving, does anyone have any suggestions for parking a car in that area? Should I park at a meter or are there parking garages around with a flat fee?
any tips would be appreciated as we are leaving in an hour.

You go half a block down the street and you'll see a Torino with no wheels on it. Inside that Torino is my cousin, Jackie. Tell him that you're my boy, and that you're lost. He'll make sure you get where you're going. You don't want to know from me. I'm not from this neighborhood. I'm from the west side of Chicago, here on vacation.
Sorry, quote from Vacation came to mind and I had to use it.

You'll never find parking on the street. Not without wasting a tonne of your time and walking a couple miles. Just drive around the block, there's about 3-4 big parking garages on that block alone... All the rates are pretty much the same, count on about $15-20 in parking for the night. Your auntie would like that place, very nostalgic. For the youngins, I'd recommend cruising the pubs at north beach each afterwards.
oh noes!! 15-20 !!! that's quite a bit.

Yeah, unfortunately, just driving into and out of a garage's gonna cost you around $8, then tag on a couple bucks per hour... :(
If you go south of Market St, you'll find better chances of street-parking, but that's still a 1/2-3/4 mile walk back. But you can check out all the bike-messengers and fixies on Pine. :)
I heard this story of a dot.commer who bought a flat there. It didn't come with much parking and there was a parking-lot next door that belonged to another building. So this guy paid an additional $100k just for that parking spot!
