Saw A Bicyclist With Driving Lights Mounted On His Bike And Taillight With A Battery,12 Volt,in A Bob Trailer. Used A Solar Panel To Keep The Battery Charged.looked Like A Small Battery. Damn They Were Bright!!! He Was On A Sideroad Near Ocala National Forestin Florida Zeke Looked Foolproof, Any Opinions???
there are low-riders here who use 12 volt batteries for their sound-systems and flashing trim lights. they seem to ride up and down the towns side-walks with extra weight.
i am looking into brightness/battery use for commuting illumination as well.
i look forward to seeing what you find!
be seen!

I'd like to see a bike light powered by a laptop battery.
Too bad that good(new) ones are expensive.

Go read the total geekiness thread, pretty much everyone has 12v systems. Of my bikes, one has automotive driving lights on the front, the other has a tractor headlight. Both have LED truck taillights and amber slow-moving-vehicle strobes.

My 12v tractor headlight works fine, and new parts are available at any auto parts store. If you do not mind hauling high capacity batteries you can get some bulbs that make most other lights look sick.
