I am trying to replace my litespeed ultimate seatpost with a carbon seatpost. On the website they measure all of the litespeed frame seattubes at 31.7 mm. When I measure my aluminum seatpost it measures approx 27mm--what gives?

Mine too. Litespeed used 27.2 for most of their existance but changed to 31.6 a couple of years ago.

Yup, big fat seattube. I actually shimmed my Siena to use a 27.2 post instead of coughing up the bucks for a Thompson Elite. Shims are only a couple of bucks.
