mild? Cold? A bad one? What do you think?
Probably a mix of sun, rain, and fog for us bay area folks.

Here's (http://www.cpc.noaa.gov/products/predictions/long_range/lead02/off_index.html) what NOAA says. Since I define "cold" as anything below 50 degrees, it's unfortunately going to be another cold winter here.

Hoping for cold enough and long enough to kill off some of the mosquito population.

I hear for the NE it'll be colder than last year's but warmer than the last 30 year's average.
In other words, it'll be cold, you're more than likely to get a few snow storms, maybe even a major one.

In the North-east expect below average temperatures and above averages of precipitation. Not sure if their will be a lot of rain and snow though.

The wooly worms here in the MW are prognostigating a cold and snowy winter early and milder in late winter.

yeah, I wish... Im allready thinking of a way I could get out for an hour and I dont think that's going to happend...
It'll be between 50-60 degrees here during winter. We never have weather that hinders riding.

I try not to ride when there is snow on the road. I have ridden on black ice a couple times (not on purpose). That was definitely interesting.
The sun will generally rise from the east and set in the west for the winter. That is all.

My hopes are that it will not snow too much, even if it is cold. As little ice on the road as possible, to motivate me to keep riding outdoors in the winter!

Nope, just the wolly worms and they have a 'reasonable" accuracy. What's the almanac say?

You can do it. I was able to commute an average of 3 days per week last winter. I did run into a little black ice. It was exciting.

eeeh, I don't feel so courageous that I want to go looking for black ice. I just have nasty images of me slipping, torn clothes, or even me slip into the road.

2 words: Studded Tires!:D
You know, my frame has such tight clearance, I don't think studded tires will even fit! Even with my 700x25 tires, there is only 3 or 4mm clearance witht he FD clamp on the seat tube.
