Great! A few of us from Bikeforums attended last years ride. Even in the rain, we still had a good time. Hopefully, we will have better weather this time out.

I rode in 2004 then missed last year due to accumulation of cheeseburgeers, wings and gallons of beer. <Enter lifestyle change>

See you in '07.

Ahhh, I know that story all too well my friend. My diet is still a mess, and I still like to throw a few beers back now, and then. Nothing like I used to, because the bike helps keep me out of the bars. That, and the fact I moved to Waynesburg.

Here's to '07, and a better season on the bike.

Anybody still going to tomorrow's ride. Looks like I'll be bringing the cool temperature gear along for the start. I just hope it's not Puddle Pittsburgh like last year. 30% chance for showers though

When I was passing through Pittsburgh in May, I took some photos of the ride. Here are the links:

Nice pics, Historian. I've never done this ride but I'm planning to change that in '08. Never did Amtrak either but with the airlines going the way they are...

I live near Philadelphia, but Pedal Pittsburgh looks like a fun event. I may need to travel out to ride in it. Do they serve Primanti Brothers sandwiches at the rest stops? :)

Pittsburgh was the interchange between trains from Philadelphia and Cleveland. I enjoy travel by train, but service to Cleveland involves a long layover in the Steel City.

Thanks for sharing the pics with us Historian. The one thing I always forget to take along on these rides is my camera. I've done about 5 of theses rides, and it seems to get better each year. Although, they don't serve Primanti' sandwiches at the rest stops , they do provide snacks, fruits, and of course water. They also have a couple volunteer mechanics at each stop to help those in need. They do a real nice job on the post ride picnic as well. The food was simply excellent, probably the best meal of all the events I've ridden this year so far.

This ride isn't on country roads, but it does take place on Sunday, so the vehicle traffic is at a minimum. It is exactly as it's name says, a Pedal thru, and around Pittsburgh. It's designed to showcase some of the history, architecture, and new design going on throughout it diverse neigborhoods. I find a lot of folks are shocked to find out how scenic, and fun this ride actually is. If you ride it once, you'll usually come back, and do it again.

Next year, I gotta remember that camera!
