Hi Everyone,

I just got into triathlons this past summer and am hooked. I just discovered this forum last week and am digging all the information.

So, I'm in the market for a tri bike and just searched the forum for any reviews or feedback on a Litespeed Tachyon and didn't find much. Can anyone out there provide any feedback on the way it rides, quality, comparability to other bikes in its price class, etc. - especially if you've ever ridden or currently own one? I've got a line on a new '05 model at a closeout price and any info would be really helpful in making my decision.

Thanks:D!

I don't know if your going find much info on that bike in triathalon threads, but try the road thread for better luck. There are a lot of people that ride litespeeds and love Ti over there. It just doesn't seem to be as popular for tri/tt bikes but that doesn't mean that it isn't a high quality bike.

manufacturing with Ti is difficult, but litespeed is the best at it...test ride it and see how it fairs...

Just found your post.
I had a Tachyon for 5 years. Loved every second on it. (4x Ironman) I lost it to the front end of the Ford Ranger that I went through the windshield of. Messa broken bones, ambulance ride, hospital, concussion, stitches - and I was more angry about not being able to replace her. I now have a Saber that is virtually identical. I hope to ride it as long as I can ride.
I may play "Musical" road bikes, but I don't see a replacement for the Saber anytime soon.

I've just bought a '99 Tachyon. This is the site that I looked at when I decided to go with it. Not the '05 model you're looking at though. http://www.roadbikereview.com/cat/2001-bikes-and-older/older-road-bike/Litespeed/PRD_18488_1610crx.aspx

Thanks for the great info and advice, guys. I went with the '05 Tachyon and am really happy so far. Now I just have to wait out the cold NH winter ahead to put some serious miles down.
