I'm a little buzzed now. Usualy one or twice a week I get over the limit. Only a few times a year do I get totally trashed.

I'm REALLY buzzed right now...on caffeine! Alcohol can be fun for me but only if I'm with the right people, which doesn't happen a lot. So not too often.

once I drink 1 beer then next 11 seem to go pretty quick. I'd say once a month. I can't just stop at 1 or 2 so I don't drink to often.

I've had to cut back to about twice a month. I was getting wasted 4-5 times a week. Time spent wasted is not wasted time.

Well now, I'm buzzed on bikes... so there.
Currently rebuilding 'Pablo' Guerciotti into a 10mm wonder. Hmmm now where did those
shiny gold rims go?
Just hoping the 'real' Pablo Guerciotti will not mind the Japones`e componentry
I am installing. Still a Campagnolo headset and BB

It's too much work to get drunk anymore. I don't like headaches or the feeling like crap in the morning. So I usually quit after 2 or 3 beers.

+1 The hangovers hurt more than they used to. If I drink too much I just fall asleep and feel like crap the next day. If getting drunk is fun for you, enjoy it before you get too old - but please don't drive!

Does anybody over 30 get drunk that often anymore? I know I don't.

I may have a drink now and then, but I almost never "get drunk".

I spent many years bouncing and playing gigs in bars, not to mention my years in the military. I could drink like a fish and hold my liquor. Last time I was drunk was in April 2004, for the duration of our weekend company 'meeting' in Cancun. We started at 8:30 in the morning Friday at the airport...and didn't stop until about noon Sunday back at the same airport, with a lot of partying in between. (Senor Frog's was a blast...I think)

The next month I got really sick and ended up in the emergency room. After a lot of tests, they determined that I had pancreaitis, which is caused by either gall stones...of which they could find no evidence, or 'binge drinking'. The light bulb went off in my head. Haven't been drunk since, though I still drink a couple of shots of tequila if we go out to sing karaoke or sit in with some of my friends during a gig.
For medicinal purposes only of course. ;)

Same here. I can honestly say I don't get drunk any more. It's just too painful!

Well, OK, it's always been painful - I've always gotten hangover's fairly easily, but now the recovery just takes too damn long. These days, even 3 beers will make me feel like crap for most, if not all, if the next day.

Now that was a time when blind drunk had true meaning. Four of us used to sit down every night with a case of beer and a fifth of Bourbon. In the morning we would get up at 0430 and run it off in our little 5-10 mile runs. You could smell the Jack Daniels sweating out of people...Got to love the Airborne/Ranger mentality. :D

Now I am a martini or scotch man and very little of that...

We used to subscribe to the notion that the best way to avoid a hangover was to stay drunk...so on them little morning jaunts through the countryside we'd be passing a flask of Jack between us! God really must look out for morons and Marines...it's a freakin miracle I survived my 20s!

our sports lounge would indicate that the answer to this is YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
one more reason I dont want to get drunk, when you're sober and deal with drunk people it puts everything in perspective.

Nightly. I'm actually on doctors orders to. Not exactly, but they did tell me that if I'm going to quit, then I shouldn't quit cold turkey. Some crap about seizures...

I find I'm shying away from beer (does funny things and never get a buzz) lately though really enjoy some good wine with dinner. My biggest problem is that I don't feel anything until it's too much.

Love scotch, whiskey and bourbon. Got really, really sick on martinis a year ago and haven't been able to enjoy them since.

I'll have some wine during the week and if something's going on a few drinks during the weekend.

That's why I quit bartending. It's hard for me to suffer a drunk any longer.

I drink about a six pack's worth a year. The last time I was drunk (read as 4 beers) was two years ago with my sister, her eldest son, and my brother in a pub in Ireland.

Gee.. I don't think I've been drunk since my college days... something about those dry-heaves and tequiya burps the next day that's just not appealing... I have about 10-15 drinks a week, but I don't overdo it and actually get drunk anymore...

I've only been drunk three times in my life.

The first time was when I celebrated my high school graduation. I got smashed on French wine and champagne that my parents and I had brought back after bicycling across Northern France. The only problem then was that I was to start my university days.... the next morning!!

The second time happened when I sat with some university friends of mine in their dorm room during a card game. Whatever they served me was so strong that I needed assistance in getting back to my room at the end of the evening.

The last time occurred when I consumed too much Sake in the company of friends one evening. I had quite a hangover in the morning.

My doctors read me the riot act. Since I have epilepsy and drinking too much can cause grand mal seizures, I haven't become drunk again.

I am incapable of getting really drunk, so drunk that I can't control my actions and don't remember in the morning what happened last night. My digestive system gives out before the brain does.

A couple of beers do tend to put me in a better mood, usually. Make me somewhat more talkative and relaxed. But my "talkative and relaxed" is probably still "quiet and tense" from an extrovert's perspective. :)

I like the flavors of alcohol, so yeah, I do drink. Get drunk? Both nights this weekend --it's Halloween. Other than that, not really. A few drinks is peachy, losing grasp of the English language and motor skills is embarrassing

Fall down drunk - rarely (few times a year)
Drunk and happy buzz, still able to be "normal" - 4 to 5 days a week pretty easily

I have the unfortunate problem of RARELY getting hungover, so I don't have as big a consequence as other people for drinking (short term only)...but I am making a solid effort to quit and have cut back boatloads. Its tough in a town like this where every meeting is social, every get together is a party and every post event (ride, ski or just walking up the street) requires a beer to celebrate. I am not blaming it on the town, but its definately a different lifestyle. This place has ruined lots of people lives and careers with the easy flowing alcohol and even easier flow of drugs.

Before 9 months ago I was downing a 26 of rye a night almost. I definately cut that back to miniscule amounts compared to that, and even when I do go out to party, I still make sure I don't get "stupid"...

Last time for me was my birthday a couple weeks ago. My racing team has a habbit of trying to get the birthday boy smashed. Wait on the other hand there was this halloween bar crawl last Saturday too. I think I aquired drunk status then too but I was still able to ride 4 hours Sunday.
