Foo - The photo challenge thread.

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Ok, since there seems to be a lot of talented photographers on here, I thought another thread couldn't hurt. But I want to make it more about bikes. So here's my idea:
Each morning, someone posts a bike related subject. We'll have 48 hours to post an image fitting the topic. It can either be one you shot during that time, or one you already shot, but it has to be your own image. After the 48 hours, we're on to another subject.
Sound like fun? First person to post here can pick the inaugural subject.

OK, inaugural Challenge is........
Getting big air on a bike!
Should be enough air to make the jaw drop!

winnah, sorry about my crap digi cam, makes me look like a stick figure as I jump the worm from Tremors
Tom, Tom, Tom,
I'm old enough now that big air means big hospital bill.
I don't have any pics of Velo air, but it still took wheels and his own steam to do this:

Maybe it'll do as an example

Well, it's not jaw-dropping, but it's a start...

Told you it was a bad camera, makes Tremor worms look like Arrakeen Sandworms. Made what appeared to be a Klingon warship hovering over my house look like a 72 Pacer last week. I really need a new camera.

Man, I was too busy thinking "float, float like a butterfly" to really take a good look at the worm. All I know is it looked hungry and had bad breath. Did not notice any walls or anything and nothing really shows up in the picture, but you could be right.:D

Arrakeen was the town, but Arrakeen can also refer to a native species of Arrakis.:D

Haha... ah no. It kind of looks like it though. :D
To clarify, I am behind the lens, that is my friend Merritt and there is a small ramp behind the retaining wall.

AHHHH, now that I look, closer, I can see a bit of the ramp!:D
Air!
Imagine the rush the guy still riding is getting. I mean if it was a pack of 15 guys, and suddenly one guyt goes doen and takes down 13 of the riders. Now this one dude is like "HOLY sugar honey ice tea" and then proceeds to realize he can win the stage :D
Dont worry I got the sugar honey ice tea thing from my history teacher.
I meant the wheels. :D
Oh those, off road board.
Air!
Now that is jaw dropping, and breaking.

Boy, I wished I had my camera downtown a couple weeks ago. There was this dirty guy riding a beat-up bike down State St, yeah, he was one of those "scruffy" people. I noticed his drop bars were rotated up backwards with no brake-levers.... hmmm, maybe he's got a single-speed with coaster-brake? Nope, looks like 5-speed freewheel in the back... Coming up to the light, he reaches forward and pulls on the brake-cable which was tied to the stem!!!

Old, but not something I'm looking forward to next month - at least the trail should be clear.

Those are commonly referred to as "Stoner bars". Many of the junkie/pothead/and homeless types seem to prefer the heads-up riding position it affords. He's got some guts to be riding State with no real braking system, especially heading towards the beach.
I wish I had my camera to get a shot of the "Custom" rear rack I saw last weekend. To keep things out of the back wheel, they used garden variety lattice on either side of the rack. Sweet.

We call them "crackhead bars." Different name, same idea.
