Great Lakes - Is it my imagination?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Is it my imagination or does the weather actually look good enough to go for a ride the next few days?
I was ready to go running and the hit the trainer in the basement but it looks like I just might be riding outside, provided the Bears have a nice lead by 1:00.

It would be even nicer if you had Monday off. Suppose to get close to 70. Already have a ride lined up.
No rain, no gale force winds, 35 degrees at the start, but I am back from a great 40 mile ride. To paraphrase the late great Frank Zappa... Shut Up 'N Ride Yer Bike!

Did 30 miles on Saturday and 25 miler today. Kind of windy , but still great.
Yes and Yes. 34 miles for me. I had to get out early when it was still cold, but it was well worth it. Spotted several large groups headed the opposite direction as I was North on Schlapp near Naperville. Felt good as I have not been on the road bike since 10/15. Looks like I may need to have some appointments lined up for tomorrow afternoon??? Later.

Got stuck catching up on much needed yard work. Bewteen that and all of the work I am putting in (busy shutting down a plant - literally cleaning it out and auctioning machinery :( ) I have begun to forget what a bike looks like. I have a feeling I will get out. I don't care about cold, but the wind is my mortal enemy.
I have to get a century in for November. Any takers?
You Betcha!
Here in northeast Ohio the winds are 15-30,but it was sunny and a possible high of 49f.A ride through the metroparks valley helped avoid the high winds.
I left my helmet behind and used a knit,"Buckeye",cap due to the cold air. Will have to find a way to keep my ears from freezing, while wearing a helmet.Regardless it was a great, senic, fall ride which is hard to come by this time of year.

If by "century" you mean about a 30 miler on a sunny windless day, yeah, I'm in.
Ugh... how nice was Sunday? Having a nasty cold kept me off the bike. It only got worse after my spur-of-the-moment Thursday trip to St. Louis for World Series fun. Lost my voice at game 4 and didn't find it until sometime late on Saturday. By that point, my body was wracked with illness. It was SO worth it, though... :D
Cycling fitness? That seems to elude me at this point....
literally cleaning it out and auctioning machinery
When you say machinery, anything good for the home shop or is machinery bigger than the home shop?
As for November, again Sundays are best for me and of course no water (liquid or frozen) and above 15 degrees F.

Did an apple orchard ride Sunday. Hit two and enjoyed caramel apples, mmmm! Wound up with 41 miles, great fall ride. Nice today and if I can get my stuff done the TCBC has a 50 miler at 11:00. Go Bears!

Well...how big is your home? Lots of odd lots, toolroom machinery/grinders, manual lathes, home sized drill presses, parts washers, etc....
PM me if you want an auction flyer.

Next to the 30W oil...and gauze pads.
After making trips this morning to a couple of plants by car I just couldn't resist getting on the bike today. Windy, yes, but it was so nice to ride in shorts instead of jeans. (Note to self, maybe it would be worth riding to work in tights this winter.) Too bad it will be dark on my ride home.
I'm up for a century some time in November maybe the 8th? They're currently forecasting 51 degrees and rain so my bet is it will either be super warm or super cold and dry...
I did manage to get out both yesterday and today for a few short rides. Got home from work and although windy and cloudy, it was better than the trainer in the basement.

Another great day for a ride. Get out there boys and girls! :)
I have definately lost some legs and the wind from the south was a little stiff but it was a fine day for a ride for less than a week to December. I hope you all got out today.

Nice day. I'm laid up sick with my 8 month old...who is also sick. I've spent my entire week in between jobs suffering from a virus/flu/cold that my son gave to me. I'm going crazy.
Hope you guys enjoyed your rides.

rest up and feel better. the wife and i had something, maybe 24 hour flu, hit us Thursday. it cut our holiday trip home short and made for a long weekend in doors. a 15 month old inside for four days can be a scary thing. some how she did not get sick??
anyway, i can NOT believe that it has been in the 50s for several days in a row and my bike has not left the garage!! i am sad. i did some running, but i miss my bike. :(
later.

The unusually warm November weather has allowed me to ride my biggest monthly mileage of this year (928 miles thru today) and my biggest month of November mileage in 25 seasons. :)

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving.
I got out for 30 miles on Monday. 60 degrees and little to no breeze. It was quite enjoyable. Stopped down in Carpentersville at Main Street Bicycles just to check it out and had a nice chat with the fellow working there.
Looks like that might be my last armwarmer only day of the year, what with the cold front (finally) hitting us late this week.
Hey, Psimet, where are those jersey drawings? So.Cal already has their regional jerseys and we want to get the Great Lakes ones before next May, right, man?!! :)

Wow, do I feel like a slug. Only 145 miles here. I enjoyed your report from Amish country. Too bad it got deleted when the board had problems. Please re-post if you get a chance. I travel through that area quite a bit. All of the Amish that work in the mobil home factories ride to and from work with their playmate coolers mounted on their bikes.
