This past week has been the first week back on the bike since early September, as I'm finally feeling well enough to ride and exercise again (also started lifting for the winter season). First ride outside last week was sorta like today, except a bit less windy....and I felt like I wanted to die. Today was much better (physically speaking), but man......20+ mph winds with gusts near 40 mph really makes for some challenging conditions.

I actually had a tailwind in parts today, amazingly enough.....I can never seem to get those. Did my little 16 mile loop, as I've been doing this past week to get back into the swing of things.....and the fairly wide-open part that's about 2 miles long that normally gives me a headwind didn't disappoint today. It was actually nice going up small hills today, as you would get a break from the wind (well, when there was a headwind).

Still managed to do my loop in under an hour though without killing myself, so I felt pretty good about that. Hopefully another few weeks of getting my legs and lungs back, and then I'll begin base-building season.

How was everyone elses' ride with the wind today?

Challenging, I started out to do a 40+ mile ride today and ended up with 25. The wind besides blowing me all over the place put a lot of debris in the road and made riding like an obstacle course. Almost got blown over crossing the CT river in Sunderland. Great temperatures but the wind makes it a bit to challenging to enjoy.

I was a wussy girl this weekend - yesterday with the combined wind/rain/cold, there was no way I was going out. Today it was just too darn windy.

My hat's off to any of you brave wind resisters!
