I am really at a loss for what to say in this post, other than to convey my shock. Let's start with my claim that several things =bbusername= has said have brought me to the boiling point. The statement of his that made the strongest impression on me, however, was something to the effect of how he has a "special" perspective on revanchism which carries with it a "special" right to control your bank account, your employment, your personal safety, and your mind. Someone needs to fight the warped, distorted, misshapen, unwholesome monstrosity that his refrains have become. Who's going to do it? =bbusername=? I think not. It is as if we were safely on the bank of a raging river, enjoying a picnic with our friends and family, when a bunch of licentious pamphleteers came along and threw us into the river. Not only must we must struggle to avoid drowning in the raging torrent of =bbusername=-sponsored neocolonialism, but we must crawl out of the river before we can discuss the relationship between three converging and ever-growing factions -- unreasonable, ghastly geeks, misinformed fogeys, and brazen Luddites. What he does in private is none of my business. But when =bbusername= tries to encourage every sort of indiscipline and degeneracy in the name of freedom, I object.
Think about that for a moment. Should we sit back and let him force us to bow down low before virulent shysters, or should we denounce those who claim that "the norm" shouldn't have to worry about how the exceptions feel? That choice sure sounds like a no-brainer to me.
It's somewhat tricky to advance a clear, credible, and effective vision for dealing with our present dilemma and its most unprincipled manifestations, especially since the media in this country tend to ignore historical connections and are reluctant to analyze ideological positions or treat a fringe political group seriously. Now, more than ever, we must see through the haze of pessimism. If you can go more than a minute without hearing =bbusername= talk about post-structuralism, you're either deaf, dumb, or in a serious case of denial. Worst of all, our children's children would never forgive us for letting him seize control of the power structure. I've tried explaining to his comrades that the horny neopaganism in his smear tactics is not always explicit, but it is clear to me in talking to them that they have no comprehension of what I'm saying. I might as well be talking to creatures from Mars.
From what I understand, =bbusername= is thoroughly saturnine. We all are, to some extent, but he sets the curve. Which brings me to my point. At the risk of repeating myself, I must reiterate that one does not have to spread churlish views in order to drive off and disperse the wicked stirrers who hijack the word "nondeterministic" and use it to make our lives a living hell. It is a lecherous person who believes otherwise. It's good that you're reading this letter. It's good that you're listening to what I'm saying. But reading and listening aren't enough. You must also be willing to help me shoo =bbusername= away like the annoying bug that he is.
If everyone does his own, small part, together we can provide an atmosphere of mutual respect, free from expansionism, tribalism, and all other forms of prejudice and intolerance. If he continues to devise impetuous scams to get money for nothing, I will be obliged to do something about him. And you know me: I, hardheaded cynic that I am, never neglect my obligations. Now that I've stated that, allow me to say that I have a problem with =bbusername='s use of the phrase, "We all know that...". With this phrase, he doesn't need to prove his claim that there is something intellectually provocative in the tired rehashing of crazy stereotypes; he merely accepts it as fact. To put it another way, I'm sure he wouldn't want me to eavesdrop on his secret conversations. So why does =bbusername= want to give expression to that which is most destructive and most harmful to society? It is bootless to speculate on the matter, but it should be noted that you should not ask, "How will =bbusername='s grunts react when they discover that =bbusername= wants to divert us from proclaiming what in our innermost conviction is absolutely necessary?", but rather, "Whatever happened to his sense of humanity?". The latter question is the better one to ask, because the reason he wants to lead an active disinformation campaign is that he's utterly temperamental. If you believe you have another explanation for his crude behavior, then please write and tell me about it. I wish that some of =bbusername='s rank-and-file followers would ask themselves, "Why am I helping =bbusername= treat people like illiterate amnesiacs?" In case you have any doubts, it would be wrong to imply that he is involved in some kind of conspiracy to regulate incendiarism. It would be wrong because his screeds are far beyond the conspiracy stage. Not only that, but he draws his outrageous conclusions from arbitrary statistics. Do I blame society for this? No, I blame =bbusername=. In closing, =bbusername='s stratagems epitomize our most jaded, effete instincts.

Come on Joe. You of all people should know of the problems that =bbusername= continually causes on the board. Saddam is one decent fella compared to =bbusername=, as are Hitler, Stalin etc etc. I'm just letting other forum members (particularly the newer ones) know about it, so they can deal with =bbusername= as the situation demands.

Chris, please watch your language. I had to edit a few words out of your post, please concider this your LAST warning.
Harrassment... Harassment occurs when a member insults, attacks, and denigrates another member at any time. We have zero tolerance for taking an argument about a any topic to a personal level. For instance, the use of terms such as "idiot, moron, stupid" and other derogatory terms constitutes harassment. The idea is to make this a pleasant environment to discuss cycling, not a schoolyard, or name-calling and rock-throwing festival. Repeated critical and sharply negative posts toward a forum member can also constitute harassment.
AND
Vulgarity... As a community with a diverse variety of members and readers, we ask that our members to post without using vulgarity. Vulgarity not only includes vulgar language and pictures but also sexist, racist, anti-religious and homophobic language which may offend other members. In addition, the "masking" of vulgarity by inserting * or another keystroke in place of one or more letters in a vulgar term is unacceptable in most cases.
WTF is up with this censorship? I know we need to keep things reasonably in order around here, but this is just ridiculous. There was nothing at all offensive in my post - and all of it was 100% true. I won't bother reproducing it again, since you'll just remove it anyway, it's totally pointless.
I see that all the work I've done to assist this forum over time means nothing as you are just going to take the side of Chris L in these issues. As a consequence, I am leaving BF for good! I am never coming back, ever! You can find yourself another moderator, as you clearly won't allow me to express an objective opinion on those issues here.
To anyone who misses my posts, you can blame Chris L for this. This situation proves my point about the divisive nature of =bbusername='s posts. This is the sort of thing that we can expect to happen while Chris L is around here. You should put this person on your ignore list if you intend staying here. I'm off, this time for good.

God forbid I ever slammed anyone. Maybe disagree- in a thread that now, many have the option of not viewing new posts, when they log on..
Since It is too early(3 am) to get out the Webster's, Chris' attack will have to stand.. I will just have to let the likes of learned columnists, such as Ariana Huffington or Molly Ivin's revanche for themselves; for I will not revanche for them..
Oh, well- at least its not my birthday !. Celebrating it once is enough.. Thank goodness, I did not reveal my Birthday in my profile...Somebodies got be picked on.. And to think this past St. Patrick's Day- I did not wear green and nobody pinched me.. April 1 can make up for that..

Oh god, I'm shattered, I'm just a little, tender, feeling, help everyone type of guy. You hurt me Chris, I can't believe what you've written, If you don't want me around, I'm gone then, I'll just pedal away like I always do when I'm not wanted. Well, I've had a lot of fun on this board, but I guess it's over. I've enjoyed reading all the post every day, I've been loyal and have tried to help all those who asked. Being a bike tech for many years I felt I could be of service by sharing my experience with those in need of advice. I never meant to bend anyones nose. If I have I sincerly apologize, I'll be gone, I will pedal to a new place on the net, If I can find one, I'm sure it will be hard to find a place with so many nice people that are so dedicated to a sport like the members of this forum. Again, I'm gone, it's been fun.
Chris, I've always enjoyed reading your posts, I never had a clue that you disliked me or my posts so. I never intended to upset you, I always felt that you did a great job of moderating the board.
For all those that read my posts, Keep up the good work and keep riding your bike, It will allow you to live a longer healthier life. I've enjoyed meeting all of you. Thank you all for everything, you are a great bunch of people.
I again apologize if anything I've said has upset you in any way.

Having just been exposed to Chris L.'s worthless crusades, I ponder how best to express my disgust at Chris L.'s total lack of sensitivity and reasoning. What follows is the story of how Chris L. can be so rich in the rhetoric of democracy and yet so poor in its implementation.
Eccentric sinful feeble-minded-types represent one of the most dirty wings of cantankerous separatism you can possibly find. Here's an extraordinary paradox: All of the invidious underachievers who shouldn't be allowed to make excessive use of foul language invariably want to. Maybe some day, Chris L. will finally stop trying to spew forth ignorance and prejudice. Don't hold your breath, though.
I was stunned by the magnitude and viciousness of it all. Moreover I, not being one of the many splenetic slackers of this world, will sincerely not bow to coercion, intimidation, or the threat of violence. It disturbs me that these domineering judgemental freeloaders have so little tolerance for differing points of view, and deep down in our bones, we all know why. Take it from me: Chris L.'s cronies seem to believe that he can do no wrong. We must place a high value on honor and self-respect. Our children depend on that.
What conclusion should we draw from Chris L.'s accusations? How about that Chris L. is a walking time-bomb of cameralism? It's irrelevant that my allegations are 100% true. Chris L. distrusts my information and arguments and will forever maintain his current opinions. I see two problems with Chris L.'s grievances on a very fundamental level. First, as subversive as it might sound, it is against everything and for nothing. And second, we'll know soon enough just how power-hungry these types of louts can be.
One indication of this is the fact that inequality does not beget equality. I call this phenomenon "Chris L.-ism". Although Chris L. won't admit it, it's time to get beyond lies, dissembling, and propaganda deliberately spread by Chris L. and act according to the plain truth.
All such combinations of audacity with ignorance would be supremely ridiculous but for one consideration: Chris L.'s ramblings appeal to people who are fearful about the world's political and economic situation and long for simple solutions to complex problems. Chris L.'s self-fulfilling prophecies manifest themselves in two phases. Phase one: make incorrect leaps of logic. Phase two: create a global workers plantation overseen by transnational corporations who have no more concern for the human rights of those who produce their products or services than Chris L. has for his henchmen. Chris L. is bad enough when he's alone, but he is even worse when he's joined by materialistic imprudent derelicts.
As amazing as it seems, Chris L. tends to forget what matters most. The primary point of disagreement between myself and infernal delirious spongers is whether or not "disproportionableness" is sometimes narrowly defined by the worst sorts of maladroit shysters there are. By this, I mean that spiteful ivory-tower academics suffer from a collective self-image that prefers victimization to success and imposes a suffocating group conformity that ostracizes nonconformists. Although you probably know exactly what I mean, if Chris L. opened his eyes, he would realize that most pundits are uncertain about the magnitude of the threat posed by its sentiments.
This march into closed-minded heartless McCarthyism is not happening by mere chance. It is not, as many nefarious thieves insist, the result of the natural, inevitable course of things. It is happening as a direct result of Chris L.'s unregenerate ethics. The cardinal rule of Chris L.'s expostulations is that myopic factionalism is the only thing that matters. It should come as no shock to anyone that you don't need a preschool diploma to understand that I'm sure Chris L. seriously believes that "the norm" shouldn't have to worry about how the exceptions feel, seeing how its selective memory works.
I still wish briefly to take a position on the question as to what extent Chris L. seems to have trouble constructing a grammatically-correct sentence. This is not rhetoric. This is reality. Chris L.'s quips need to be reassessed with Chris L.'s ulterior motives in mind. When we tease apart the associations necessary to Chris L.'s empty-headed ideas, we see that if fickle scofflaws can one day hijack the word "anatomicophysiologic" and use it to make our country spiritually blind, then the long descent into night is sure to follow. This is particularism! Chris L.'s mottos emphasize the formation of small units of disagreeable voluble helpers that can avoid detection by authorities, strike quickly and disperse, and, to some extent, deny citizens the ability to become informed about the destruction that anti-democratic refractory mouthpieces for raving revanchism are capable of.
Since I don't have anything more to say on that subject, I'll politely get off my soapbox now.
Happy April Fools Day right back at ya.....

Well, I'm sincerely hurt by Chris L's comparison of me to Saddam Hussein in this recent rant. Hitler maybe, but Saddam??? I could never grow a mustache so full and dictatorial looking. Anyway, I can certainly see how my thread on aluminum fatigue and the affect it has on mountain bike durability drew this response. His is a well-written, cogent arguement likely supported by most middle-class, "I've got a severed head in my freezer" paddle boat wannabes and the only reasonable response to my thread. I even suspected that I might draw this kind of response. How could I have not seen this coming? I should have steeled myself for this barrage...but I'm unprepared. I find myself in utter, chaotic, regression, re-visiting childhood misbehaviors and the ensuing punishment and subsequent life-long traumas they sparked. My only hope is that he's not currently having masturbatory fantasies of me given my obvious affinity for Stalinist regimes, state sponsered cencorship, and inferior frame materials. Given Chris L's apparant life story and obvious depravity, his behavior is therefore excused. Unfortunately I don't have the time to expound upon this (or cite the appropriate pyschological referances), suffice it to say that he definately had me going for a minute when I logged on this morning. Well done.
