Yep. 5 in a row and 6 total certainly isn't out of the question. I don't think he'll ever ride it again after he eventually loses. Of course, he could choose to go out on top, but athletes sure don't do that very often.

He also won in 2002, just to add it to your list...

I found this list looking for a picture of Luis Ocana who won the 1973 Tour on a Motobecane. Does this look like a Motobecane in the photo ? I can't read the downtube too well.

you know, its funny, I have heard of Anquetil, Merckx, Indurain, and of course Lance Armstrong, but I have never heard of Bernard Hinault! weird, eh? why doesn't he have a bike brand named after him? :)

Here you go, Phatman. Just what you've been looking for:

Hinault does have a line of bikes and custom frames. In his book, Road Racing, he has some great information about frame geometry.

Would Lance have his own make of bikes?

Except for the fact that he's been on Treks exclusively for the last couple of Tours. Not saying that he doesn't prefer Litespeed, but Trek has bent over backwards to make his TT bike and mountain stage bike meet his standards.

Still wouldn't surprise me to see him partnering with Litespeed someday, though.

Check out the Postal Team Bike Bus. How would you like to keep all those Treks rolling!

Riders paid all that money and don't even have to wash their own bikes:D

You know what's ironic? In the first picture that Hillyman posted, there's a FedEx box on the floor of the US POSTAL Team bike bus.

CF12, thanx for noticing that. I didn't. It's a "classic" photo. I'm gonna save that one.

I think that the 5000 series might break off into another branch of trek, Armstrong, maybe?
