Who's got the skinny on the best ultra-long life winter lights? How bright is bright enough for a long-distance ultra-race where you can't recharge overnight? How do the Luxeon III LEDs work in snowy conditions? They're not bright enough during the summer in the woods but how about in the winter??

Have the problem where I occasionally do 4 hour night rides. A Good light was necessary , but more important was Battery life. Bought the Use Exposure Enduro Turbo, mainly because it is an LED with battery life. Had problems finding an HID with a battery life long enough that I could afford. Then I am not keen on HID's as They do not like being switched on and off, and Cost of replacement bulbs.

On low power- this has a life of 8 hours. On high it is only 2 hrs 30 minutes but Even offroad I do not use High power except when it is necessary. Longest ride to date has been 6 hrs and the battery was still good enough at the end, and that was offroad. Light is good, but can't tell you about snow- only in rain where it still good. As to being bright enough- The highest power is definitely bright enough for full offroad. Hid's may be better distance but I can ride at 40mph offroad downhill and still see enough within the range of these light. Problem is that they are still not cheap.
